Providing great day camping for children ages four through fifteen since 1960! Our trained, certified staff members teach fun and varied activities.

High Meadow Day Camp is located on Route 189 in North Granby, CT and has been providing great day camping for children since 1953. In all those years we have learned the basic truth about all kids - they just want to have FUN! There's an abundance of fun to be had at High Meadow Day Camp and as our campers play and enjoy they also master new skills, overcome challenges and build confidence. At the

same time they develop special friendships and come away with memories that last a lifetime. The small counselor to camper ratio encourages the development of diverse skills by working in small, intimate groups and encouraging each camper. Learning to take risks is an important part of growth and development. High Meadow provides a safe, comfortable environment for children to take that extra step toward making them more confident. The facilities and programs offered at High Meadow Day Camp are of the highest quality. Our accreditation by the American Camping Association assures parents that we have met the highest health and safety standards in the camping industry. We are also inspected and licensed annually by the State of Connecticut.

We had a fantastic Welcome Day this past weekend! It was wonderful to reconnect with returning campers and families—and to meet so many new campers and families !

Our staff was excited to share a glimpse of the adventures that await campers this summer. It’ll be here before we know it!

IT’S TIME !!! WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEXT HIGH MEADOW DAY CAMP DIRECTOR …. JENNA! ☀️

• Approaching nearly 20 years at High Meadow Day Camp, Jenna brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her first year as Director. From her beginnings as a camper to her roles as Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.), Pre-K/Kindergarten Counselor for 10 years, Unit Head, and Assistant Director, Jenna has seen firsthand what makes High Meadow magical! ✨

During the school year, Jenna teaches right in town at Granby Middle School! Her passions include line dancing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family !

Jenna has dedicated her life to fostering growth and friendships among campers and staff. She is excited to share her passion, energy, and new ideas with generations to come- at a place she’s called home for so long! ☀️

On this last day of April, and Admin Appreciation month, we are excited to announce that Kathleen is back for Summer 2025!!! Stepping up from Program Director to Assistant Director !☀️

Kathleen’s warmth and kindness are infectious, making everyone feel valued! At High Meadow, she greets campers, connects with families and colleagues, and brings her best energy every day!

With 20 years as an independent school administrator, Kathleen has led in various schools, bringing warmth and dedication to her leadership. She holds a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from UConn, a Master’s in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed a fellowship with the National Association of Independent Schools.

Kathleen treasures time with her husband, Mark, their two sons, and their energetic poodle, enjoying activities like soccer, game nights, and family adventures.

Kathleen is thrilled for ‘Foam Day’ at HMDC this summer! We are THRILLED to have her at HMDC!

Rounding out our amazing Unit Head team is Sara! Sara is excited join the High Meadow Admin Team as our upper level Unit Head and CIT Director!

Sara has been teaching for over eighteen years and is currently a Literacy Specialist at Simsbury High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Masters of Teaching from Sacred Heart University. She has also earned her Sixth Year Certificate in Educational Administration and a second Master's Degree in Special Education from Arkansas State University.

Sara resides in Feeding Hills, MA and enjoys spending time with her four children (two sets of twins), three pugs, and boyfriend. Sara's favorite spot is the beach and in her free time likes to exercise and watch her kids play sports.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer with Sara! ☀️

Miriam is excited to join High Meadow Day Camp for her first year this summer! She will be leading our youngest Unit of campers 🌟

With a background in early childhood education, and program development, Miriam has experience working in both school and summer camp settings! She is passionate about fostering a fun, safe, and inclusive camp environment where every child can thrive.

Outside of camp, Miriam enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her four children!

We can’t wait for Summer 2025 with Miriam!

Korey is excited to be returning to HMDC for his 20th Summer!

After being a counselor for 7 years, he is proud to step up as a member of our admin team. He looks forward to elevating our program with lots of fun and new activities to share with the camp he’s loved since he was in Kindergarten! Korey has received the honor of both CIT of the Year and Counselor of the Year, and we are so excited for him to grow in this new role!

Outside of camp, Korey attended Animal Behavior College and became a certified dog obedience instructor. He is a positive reinforcement trainer and brings his positive energy and skills to camp! Korey plans to finish a second certification to train service dogs and will be going back to school to finish a bachelor’s degree in physical education.

We are so excited Tess is back for her fourth year at High Meadow!!!! 🌅

Tess has been a dedicated member of the Adventure Team at camp for the past three years… promoting team building among all ages! Tess continues to grow her leadership skills and has naturally stepped into the role of Unit Head for our upper grades.

Tess holds a Master’s degree in Special Education, which she earned in the summer of 2024. This year she is working right here in Granby Public Schools as a special education teacher. Prior to her current position, Tess gained valuable experience as a paraprofessional in Rochester, NY.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Tess enjoys being at the beach and spending quality time with her family!

We can’t wait for another summer with Tess!

Let’s welcome back a familiar face… and our 2024 Staff Member of the Year, Freddie!!! This summer marks his ninth year at High Meadow Day Camp! 🎉

Over the years, Freddie has served in various roles, including Tennis Instructor, Sports Counselor, Kindergarten Counselor, and Pool Director. This year he is stepping into the role of Unit Head to work directly with groups and counselors. Freddie looks forward to having an impact as a role model who exemplifies respect, responsibility, and friendliness!

During the school year Freddie is a Pre-K - 6th grade physical education teacher, in his fourth year , at Old Mill Pond Elementary School in Palmer, MA. In his free time, he loves playing tennis, golf, and soccer, as well as going on hikes with his wife.

We can’t wait to have Freddie back for another amazing and magical summer at High Meadow! ✨

Let’s meet our first Admin team member, Matt “Faz” Fadziewicz!!!

Matt is new to High Meadow this year, but brings with him a ton of experience. He was previously the Forts Director for FAST Camp at Mount Southington for the past 6 years. Matt, or “Faz” as many people often call him, loves spending time with his family, playing softball, or just enjoying life.

During the year, Matt is a 5th Grade Teacher in Bloomfield. He is excited to bring some new ideas and tons of fun to High Meadow!
