🚨Policy update from Lake Erie Speedway Management🚨
"Pit Vehicle & Bicycle Safety Policy
Effective August 25, 2026, the following policy will be enforced for all events moving forward: All
minors age 15 and under who are operating or riding a pit vehicle or bicycle must wear a properly
secured helmet at all times. The helmet must be a minimum of a bicycle helmet on any E-Bike, Bicycle
or Scooter and a standard helmet on any motorized unit two and/or four wheel.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Pit bikes
• Motorized scooters
• E-bikes
• Bicycles/Scooters
• Golf carts
• ATVs/UTVs
• Other motorized or non-motorized pit transportation
When the Track Is Hot (meaning cars on track). Once the track goes HOT, children age 15 and under are
not permitted to ride pit bikes, scooters, e-bikes, bicycles, golf carts, or similar vehicles recreationally
anywhere within the pit/paddock area.
The pit and paddock areas are active working environments. Race cars, support vehicles, tow vehicles,
emergency equipment, crews, officials, and event staff are constantly moving throughout these areas.
The pit area is not a playground.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children at all times. Event
staff and other participants cannot be expected to supervise children while parents or guardians are
participating in on-track activities.
There is too much activity within the pit and paddock areas to allow children to ride around
unsupervised while the track is HOT and active. This policy is being implemented SAFETY.
We want everyone—drivers, crews, staff, families, and especially our younger participants—to enjoy our
events and go home safely.
Please help us keep the pit and paddock areas safe by following and enforcing this policy with your
family and team.
Thank you, Lake Erie Speedway Management"
