Each year, growers, collectors, artists, makers, and plant businesses from across the country apply to be part of the premier plant event in the Southeast. With limited vendor space available, applications are highly competitive.

When you purchase a ticket to The BIG Plant Expo, you’re doing more than attending an incredible weekend celebrating plants. You’re helping introduce a child to the joy of growing something for the first time, supporting teachers who inspire hands on learning, and investing in students who will become the next generation of horticulture professionals.

Beginning with The BIG Plant Expo 2027, $1.00 from every paid admission ticket sold will be invested directly into The BIG Plant Expo Education & Growth Fund, supporting our Community Impact initiatives.

🌿 The Classroom Plant Grant provides funding for US public school teachers and organized homeschool groups serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, helping bring hands on horticulture education into classrooms and learning spaces.

🎓 The Future Growers Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors throughout the United States who are pursuing higher education, technical training, or certifications in horticulture and other plant related fields.

Our mission extends far beyond one weekend each year. Together, we’re cultivating curiosity, supporting educators, investing in students, and helping ensure a thriving future for horticulture.

🐉🌿 The votes are in… and after one of the closest community votes we’ve ever had, we officially have our 2027 theme! 🌿🐉

First, thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and help shape the future of The BIG Plant Expo. The results couldn’t have been much closer!

🏆 1st Place: Lost Worlds, Dragons & Kingdoms – 86 votes
🥈 2nd Place: Emerald City – 79 votes
🥉 3rd Place: The Great Botanical Expedition – 75 votes

With just 11 votes separating all three themes, every vote truly made a difference.

We’re excited to officially announce that Lost Worlds, Dragons & Kingdoms will be the theme for The BIG Plant Expo 2027!

Prepare to journey through ancient kingdoms, forgotten ruins, mythical dragons, and breathtaking botanical displays as we transform the Charleston Convention Center into an immersive world unlike anything we’ve created before.

While fantasy will inspire the atmosphere, our 2027 educational theme will focus on conservation and responsible foraging. Through expert-led presentations, workshops, and interactive experiences, attendees will discover how to protect native ecosystems, forage responsibly and ethically, and better understand the incredible role plants play in our natural world.

At The BIG Plant Expo, we believe collecting plants is only part of the journey. Our mission is to inspire people to appreciate, protect, and preserve the plants and habitats that make our world extraordinary.
