Norman Groovefest

Norman Groovefest Oklahoma's Only Human Rights Music Festival! At Andrews Park in Norman.

Norman Groovefest was created 1986 by Todd Walker, Eric Newendorp, and Jenn Flygar for a "Sunday in the Park" - a celebration of individual creativity and music. Soon, friends with resources for music and human rights awareness joined the fun and led the way, like the local OU Chapter of Amnesty International leaders, Allen Hailey and Tom Decker, adopted it in 1988 to draw attention to individu

als around the world who have been deprived of the right to express themselves...and promote human rights awareness. In 2005 the Norman Sustainability Network collaborated with GF with an emphasis on local resources and concerns related to human rights. Groovefest continues today through devoted locals and generous friends inspired to promote community through arts, music, and human rights awareness
