Hey Alumni,

Yesterday, we lost a beautiful soul in our extended HBCU community. đź’š

was a proud graduate of Norfolk State University, a devoted member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and most importantly, a light wherever she went. Her energy was warm, genuine, and impossible to ignore. The kind of person who could walk into a function and instantly make the room feel brighter. Her smile, her spirit, and her presence will truly be missed throughout our community and at the many gatherings where she shared her joy with all of us.

Life can move fast, and moments like this remind us just how precious community, friendship, and love truly are. We ask that everyone keeps her family, friends, line sisters, classmates, and all who loved her lifted in prayer during this difficult time.

Most importantly, please keep her young daughter in your prayers as she navigates a loss no child should ever have to endure.

From all of us at Alumni Fest, we send our deepest condolences, love, and support to everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.

Rest peacefully, Queen. Your presence made an impact, and your memory will continue to live on through the people whose lives you touched. 🕊️

Not hoping for a Cinderella story… planning to be the last team standing.

John Wall never left the city in spirit. From being the face of the Washington Wizards to now stepping into leadership at Howard University… this is what love for DC actually looks like.

Because DC isn’t just a city… it’s the Mecca for the Black American middle class.
Education. Culture. Network. Legacy. All in one place.

And Howard? They’ve been quietly (and not so quietly) applying pressure in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference—winning, developing talent, and restoring that standard.

From first generation graduate… to doing it again with an MBA. just showed what happens when purpose meets pressure and refuses to fold.

Hopewell, Virginia just sent a true freshman monster to Spartan Nation. 🟢🟡

Welcome Jamese Jordan to Norfolk State Basketball. Fresh out of Hopewell High School, Jamese arrives as one of Virginia’s top young big men with a college-ready frame and major upside. At around 6’10, 235+, he brings size, strength, rebounding, paint presence, and the kind of toughness that wins games in the MEAC.

This is the type of addition that changes a frontcourt immediately — hard screens, second-chance points, rim protection, interior scoring, and grown-man minutes. A true freshman with tools to develop into a serious problem.

Salute to and staff for continuing to recruit the Commonwealth and keeping talent home. Virginia always got players, and Norfolk State keeps proving it.

This isn’t just another weekend in the city—this is alumni responsibility on display.

At Town Point Park, the Town Point Park becomes the backdrop for the MEAC Foundation Sneaker Ball 2026 and an elevated Wine Festival Chalet experience—curated cuisine, personal wine concierge service, private amenities, and an atmosphere that reflects legacy.

And let’s be clear—this isn’t about posting old homecoming pictures on the yard.
The question is simple: how do you show up for your institution… and for HBCUs, period?

This room funds scholarships.
