Well… here we are. 🥺😌💪🏻
Our last day in the space that started it all.
I’ve walked through this door more times than I could ever count. I’ve carried in flowers, hauled out trash, unpacked boxes, cried, laughed, celebrated, stressed, dreamed, learned, and probably drank an unreasonable amount of coffee in this building. 😂
When I opened Blossom + Birch in December 5th, 2022- I had a vision. But if I’m being honest, I had no idea what I was doing.
I was 27 years old with a flower shop, a whole lot of hope, and approximately zero idea how much work it would actually take to build a business from the ground up.
And somehow, this little space became so much more than a storefront. It became home. It was where Blossom + Birch found its footing. Where we made thousands of bouquets. Where our team grew. {How am I a ‘boss’?!} Where friendships were made. Where customers became familiar faces.
Where we celebrated weddings, birthdays, new babies, anniversaries, holidays + all of life’s little moments.
And where we helped people say “I love you,” “Congratulations,” “I’m sorry,” “I’m thinking of you,” and sometimes simply “I saw these and thought of you.”
This room has held so much life. And today, we’re packing it all up.
It’s funny because we knew this day was coming. We’ve been talking about the move for months. We’ve been hauling boxes, cleaning, organizing, renovating, making approximately one million decisions 😂 and dreaming about what’s next.
But standing here today feels different because leaving this space means acknowledging just how much has happened here.
We outgrew it. And while that is such a GOOD thing, there’s something really tender about outgrowing a place that once felt so big.
So today, I’m mostly just grateful. Grateful for every person who ever walked through these doors, for every order, workshop, wedding, person who stopped in just to say hi, employee who has helped make this place what it is, and every friend who helped carry, build, clean, fix, move, encourage and cheer us on.
And I’m grateful for this little building for being the place where I got to figure so much of this out. Because the next chapter is bigger. Literally. 😂
But bigger doesn’t mean better because this place wasn’t good enough. It means we’re ready for what comes next, and I’m SO excited for it.
Our new space has room for more flowers, more creativity, more workshops, more community, more people around the table, and more of the vision I’ve been carrying around in my head for years.
But a little piece of my heart will always belong to this place.
Thank you, OG Blossom + Birch studio.
You were the beginning. The place where the dream became real. And this space will always be a really dang special part of our story. 🤍
Now… somebody please tell me how we’re supposed to get all of this stuff moved. 😆
Onward to Norfolk Avenue!🛻💨
