Summer Sounds

Summer Sounds Summer Sounds is a community band concert series, held at Mystic River Park, Cottrell Street, Mystic, CT. at 7PM Tuesday evenings from June 17 - August 5.

Hosted by the Noank-Mystic Community Band, Summer Sounds is a community band concert series now in its eighteenth season. Concerts will be held on Tuesdays June 17 - August 5 at 7PM. Concerts are sponsored by area businesses and local civic organizations. Admission is free; bring lawn chairs /blankets.

Summer Sounds has completed another sucessful season. After dealing with iffy weather in the beginning, we finished off with clear weather. Much thanks to supportive and faithful audience!

Thanks to our participating bands - your host, Noank-Mystic Community Band, As Time Goes By swing band, Thames River Big Band, Time & Changes Jazz Orchestra, Middletown Symphomic Band (even though their concert was cancelled due to weather), Westerly Band, Old Lyme Town Band, Waterford Community Band, and the 102nd Army Band of the Connecticut National Guard.

Our thanks to our sponsors - we couldn't do it without you - Charter Oak Federal Credit Union (major Sponsor), Rotary Club of Mystic, Mystic Woman's Club, Mystic Lions Club, Densmore Oil, and Judy Caracausa of the Market Team.

Thanks to Mystic River Park Comission and Dick Sylvestri, park manager, for such a beautiful place to perform!

This week is a "2-fer" to end the 2025 concert series: The Waterford Community Band on Tuesday. August 5 at 7PM, and the Noank-Mystic Community Band on Wednesday, August 6 at 7PM.
Also on August 6, come early: at 6PM, Klezmenschen will offer a concert of lively klezmer music.

What a wonderful concert Tuesday evening with the 102nd Army Band of the CT National Guard! From their Jazz Combo to their concert band and the uplifting flag ceremony to "Lest We Forget" it was a great time!
(My only regret is I didn't get a photo of the flag completely unfurled. It was stunning!)
