A few weeks ago, our camp bathroom burned to the ground.
What most people don’t see is what happens after the flames go out.
The next morning neighbors showed up with tractors and gloves. Volunteers cleaned debris. Contractors started making calls. Lumber yards offered help. People prayed. People cried. People got to work. Massive Trees got dropped, our team has been working tirelessly, last week most guys worked over 100 hours getting things wright.
But rebuilding in Washington isn’t simple.
What we hoped would be a quick rebuild turned into engineering plans, permits, code requirements, site plans, inspections, and a full redesign. Since we were already rebuilding, our board made the decision to do it right and build something that will serve thousands of kids for decades to come.
This bathroom wasn’t just a building.
It’s where kids cleaned up after muddy games. It was the pool mechanical room where hundreds get baptized every summer.
Where campers got ready for chapel after giving their life to Jesus the night before.
Where thousands of stories happened that nobody will ever fully know this side of heaven.
And now it’s a dirt pile.
But we’re rebuilding. Not because we have piles of extra money sitting around. But because every summer nearly 4,000 young people come through this place looking for hope, purpose, healing, freedom, and an encounter with God.
The reality is this rebuild is expensive. Engineering, concrete, plumbing, electrical, permits, materials, showers, toilets, excavation, utilities it adds up fast.
If Bear Paw Camp has impacted your life, your family, your church, or your kids, would you consider helping us rebuild? We need your help.
Whether it’s $20 or $20,000, every gift genuinely helps move this project forward. Maybe you have an extra $100k we would love to name the upper room sanctuary after you!
We don’t fully know how this gets finished yet. But we’ve already watched God provide through people stepping up one piece at a time. First the prophetic word, then the neighbors, then the Escavator, this weekend a friends coming over to cut in the footings.
He’s making a way.
