It’s growing season here in our little corner of the world, and we’re sharing stories from the farms and growers behind our ingredients.

First up: Big Table Farm Cooperative, where Mary Kate is farming on soil built over generations.

More than 100 years ago, farmers on Wooden Shoe Hollow Lane hauled vegetables downtown by wagon, then returned from Cincinnati’s stockyards with hog manure to replenish the fields. They didn’t call Cincinnati “Porkopolis” for nothing.

That practice helped build the rich, nutrient-dense soil still visible today. Through careful stewardship, Farmer Mary Kate continues the long tradition of giving back to the land.

Did you know deviled eggs trace back way, way further than your grandma’s Midwest potluck table?

Versions of stuffed eggs have been around for centuries. And we’re here for the hype.

We’re sharing three of our favorite takes: beet-pickled, herb & goat cheese, and topped with bacon 🥓

Perfect for summer gatherings, cookbook clubs 😉, and any excuse to bring a tray of snacks somewhere.

Thank you to all the amazing business owners who are also raising amazing humans. We so appreciate being in an ecosystem of support and inspiration. — Chef Maggie

1. Dana at Grass Powered Poultry — who supplies some of our meat. We want to thank you for all you do to build a farm and family that cares for the planet in ways we so deeply appreciate.

2.  Carla at Aladdins — a networking queen who helped start and run a local chapter of women food entrepreneurs. She truly recognizes and invests in community.

3.  Toncia at ETC — a champion for locally made and raised goods. She has been a cheerleader for what we do since day one.

4. Alejandra at Unataza .coffee — her path as a mom has mirrored Maggie’s and being able to process what it means to hold together a business and care for your family at the same time has been so healing and powerful.

5. Mary Kate at Big Table Farm Cooperative — a local woman farmer who has championed what we do since we first met in 2020 and brings her deep love for plants to her craft and is now embarking on motherhood as she helps build a collective of women farmers.

6. Chelsea at Block Party Event Co — Maggie’s neighbor, fellow food lover, and an amazing event planner who has helped us navigate the tricky world of microweddings with her industry expertise.

7. Savannah Shu Studio — Maggie’s good friend before they had their kids a month apart. She is a social media expert especially in the food space and is always a great sounding board for how to shape our social media.

8. Jamie at Good Plates Eatery — Maggie’s neighbor and friend was invaluable resource as she navigated early motherhood and business ownership especially in terms of being a new parenthood.
