It's time to celebrate the Class of 2025! I can't believe how fast this school year is flying by!
Katie, or Coach Jack Stab'r as she's known by Ghost Fleet Roller Derby, is officially graduating Tabb High School with the Class of 2025 and heading to Christopher Newport University! With so many options for where to continue her career, I'm selfishly so happy she's staying here in Hampton Roads.
This senior session on Belle Isle RVA was full of laughs, unexpected hikes (I hope you've forgiven me, Katie!), cool bugs, and that signature fun, quirky energy that makes her so special. She's gorgeous inside out with a genius brain that is going to take her so far in her chosen field of Biology and her lifelong love of art.
CNU is lucky to have her, just as we're all lucky to have her in our lives. Congratulations, Katie — your future is as bright as your personality!

🌼🌼🌼Aionna is officially Two Groovy!🌼🌼🌼
I had the best time celebrating her second birthday with this fun, colorful flower child theme. She is just the sweetest little girl, full of personality and cuteness, and I feel so lucky to have captured her big milestone!

This session was extra special because it’s my second year photographing Aionna—seeing little ones grow and change is one of the best parts of what I do. Plus, this theme was high on my "wishlist themes of 2025," and I’ve been so excited to bring it to life. The retro vibes, the bright florals, the little sunglasses—every detail was perfect for this groovy birthday girl!

When Tayley’s mom reached out, she was used to taking her little one to the corporate department store for photos. But this time, she got to experience something totally different—and I loved showing her what she’s been missing!

My cake smash sessions are designed to be completely stress-free. From the moment you step into my studio, everything is taken care of—custom setups, the perfect cake, adorable outfits, and even a splashy bath at the end! Your only job? Helping from the sidelines and making sure we get those sweet little smiles.

When I got a last-minute text about a cake smash session, the theme was wide open—so I pitched a few dream ideas. We landed somewhere between soft, organic neutrals and coquette pink bows, and I got to work!

With just two days to pull everything together, I faithfully reached out to Sweet Chef, hoping (but never assuming) she’d be available. And wow, did she deliver! This cake is a masterpiece—every delicate detail is absolute perfection.

Not everything I ordered arrived in the right color tones, so I pivoted from boho neutrals to full-on baby pink bliss. The session was pure magic, and little Tayley was the daintiest lady in pink.Stay tuned for the full gallery this evening, but I just couldn’t not share this most beautiful cake the way it was inspired!

Capturing a Morning of Honor & Community

I had the privilege of being the host photographer for the Newport News Police Foundation’s annual Friends of the Badge Breakfast at James River Country Club. This incredible event highlighted the many ways the foundation supports our officers and the community—from providing protective equipment, mental health services, and K-9 programs to funding drone technology, domestic abuse resources, and youth engagement initiatives like sports camps and the Young Adult Police Commission (YAPC).

The event features an expo showcasing these vital programs followed by breakfast. The ceremony began with the presentation of colors and a powerful performance of the National Anthem by Shaniqua Zastrow, setting the tone for an inspiring event. Speakers included host Dominic Velardi - President of Dominion Floor Covering, Councilman Rob Coleman, Chief Drew, and Executive Director Megan Stewart, each sharing insight into the impact of the foundation and the importance of community involvement. A moving speech was given from YAPC student Sumyah Tate, and the presentation of the Joe Frank Legacy of Leadership Award to Veronica Weymouth of Weymouth Funeral Home and Newport Crematory for her outstanding commitment to the community. DTA (Dominion Terminal Associates) was recognized for their generous support of the foundation.

It was inspiring to see so many government representatives, local businesses, and community members come together in support of those who have sworn to protect and serve.

Recently I had the chance to photograph something a little different—a beginner cake decorating class with Sweet Chef at The Spot 757 in Poquoson! Dominique led an amazing hands-on workshop, teaching kids and adults the basics of piping, icing tips, and decorating techniques. My boys (9 & 10) used all their concentration to learn how to hold the piping bag and had fun practicing the linework. I enjoyed helping them eat their cakes they brought home.

Sweet Chef isn’t just my go-to for all the beautiful cakes in my photography sessions—her talent goes far beyond! From wedding cakes, dessert tables to cupcakes and cookies, everything she creates is top-notch. And now, she’s sharing her passion through more decorating classes!

Harrison just turned 5 this year and this boy is nothing short of incredible. His strength and spirit shine so brightly. It was an honor to capturing him for his special day.

His construction-themed birthday session was the perfect way to celebrate, and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. There is nothing I love more than helping families create memories—because everyone is special, and every milestone deserves to be celebrated.
I loved watching him sit and play with all his construction toys and listening to him share with me about his dad's job and his plans for the future. Capturing these timeless moment inspires me, every frame tells a story worth remembering.

One of the best moments? Watching Harrison enjoy his delicious Sweet Chef Bakery cake—and making sure his mom and dad didn’t get a bite!

Happy 1st Birthday, Grace!

I had the sweetest time celebrating Grace’s first birthday in the studio. From singing songs to playing with her emotional support ducky, every moment was filled with joy. Convincing her to eat the delicious cake from Chef? Let’s just say the frosting was more fun on her hands than in her mouth.

She looked absolutely adorable in all three outfits. I especially loved the monogrammed bow with the pink G that her mom brought—it was such a sweet personal touch.

Capturing these precious milestones is what I love most. Thank you to Grace and her family for letting me be part of this special day.

For the last year, I've had the incredible opportunity to partner with Stroll Magazine, the beloved publication for the Running Man neighborhood in Yorktown, Virginia. Every month, Stroll features a local family, and I’ve had the privilege of capturing their beautiful stories through my lens.

I worked with 4 amazing families in 2024, creating memorable images that accompanied the articles about their lives. It’s been such a rewarding experience to showcase the personalities, love, and community spirit that make Running Man so special.

A huge thank you to Stroll for this partnership and to all the wonderful families who welcomed trusted me to capture their stories.

💔 It’s never easy saying goodbye to our furry family members, and today, my heart goes out to my dear friend, whose beloved Keara passed away.

At the end of last year, I had the honor of doing a special photo session for Berta and Timothy, focusing on Keara and Cena, both in their senior years. Those moments captured Keara’s gentle spirit and the deep bond the whole family shares. I know these times together will be forever treasured. Dogs aren’t just pets; they’re family and the little things serve as a reminder of how much they are woven into the fabric of our lives. They teach us about love, loyalty, and living in the present moment. Keara brought joy, comfort, and companionship, and her memory will continue to live on.

Berta, we have been lucky enough to call a dog our own, may we never forget how they shape us in ways that photos can’t fully capture. Rest in peace, sweet Keara. You were loved beyond measure. 🌈💖 Love you!
