Why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary! Curtis and Jessica’s wedding in Elizabeth City, North Carolina was much fun and uniquely them. From the sentimental cowboy hat, to the way she absolutely owned that stunning black lace gown, their celebration was full of personality, joy, and the kind of love you can feel just by being near it.
They brought style, laughter, and the sweetest quiet moments — from their glowing first dance to heartfelt smiles surrounded by family. Photographing their day felt less like work.

This summer I once had the honor of photographing the DoD IHE Opportunities Workshop & Intern Symposium, a two-day event that brings together students, faculty, and institutional leaders from across the country. The workshop showcased supported research, internships, fellowships, and strategic funding opportunities, with presentations from program staff, agency representatives, and academic partners.

The event highlighted how institutions and students can strengthen national security-relevant research, build capacity, and align their work with national priorities. It was inspiring to witness the innovation, dedication, and hard work displayed by this year’s interns.

A special thank-you to the amazing Chitra Productions LLC for bringing me back again this year. It’s always a privilege to document such meaningful and impactful work with such a prestigious contractor.

✨ Every maternity session with Jessica becomes my new favorite—and that’s saying a whole lot because the very first one was absolute fire!

This is her third maternity session with me, and somehow, she just keeps getting more stunning. While we were preparing Gianna, we decided last minute to get Jessica in front of the camera too, and I am SO glad we did.

For this session, I gave one of my robes new life by dyeing it black (because this blue beauty just wasn’t getting enough love). And wow—paired with Jessica’s glow and elegance, it turned out to be pure magic.

There’s just something special about the bond we share with our four-legged best friends—they’re family too. Whether it’s a cozy cuddle, a goofy grin, or a tail-wagging adventure, dogs bring so much love and joy into our lives.

That’s why I love including pups in family portraits—after all, what’s a family photo without all the family members? I also offer dog-specific sessions designed just for your furry sidekick, complete with plenty of playtime and personality.

Today I get to celebrate my beautiful friend Jenn at her bridal shower! I’m beyond excited to photograph her wedding this October.

Jenn is truly one of the most amazing people I know—and I’ve been lucky to call her a friend for over 25 years. She’s been there for so many monumental moments in my life, including being the birth photographer for both of my boys. Watching people grow up through my lens is one of the greatest joys of this job.

I’ve been photographing Caleb’s family for 10 years, and it has been such a privilege. Just last month, he graduated from the Newport News Police Department Academy, and naturally, we had to mark the milestone with a session at Newport News Police Headquarters.

It was extra special to have Hope join us for part of the session—her first time in front of my camera! The connection these two share was such a sweet thing to capture.

Caleb, congratulations on your graduation and your next chapter in service. I’m so proud to have documented this moment for you.
