You voted, and the cupcakes won! 🧁🌸

It took us 3 tries to get these made, simply because my family kept eating them before I could get them decorated. 😂

These are decorated with blue borage and pink celosia, both completely edible and grown by us. It’s such a simple way to elevate a dessert, and I can totally see these being used for a baby shower.

What would you use them for? And let me know what edible flower creation you want to see next!

Just a farmer working through these tough August farm days.

High heat
Pests & Beneficial insects everywhere
More weeds than flowers

Can you spot the good bugs versus the bad? I always google a bug before deciding "squish or work around", some of these are actually helping to keep your garden healthy!

Flower Pop-Up This Saturday! 🌸

Start August with a beautiful bouquet and breakfast at Indulge Bakery & Bistro! 💐🥐

This is the last chance to pick up a bouquet featuring our summer lisianthus before they take a break and rebloom this fall. Our first dahlias are beginning to bloom, so you'll find a few of those tucked into this week's bouquets too.

Come by early for the best selection!

Ask these two things first! 🌸

Before adding fresh flowers to your wedding cake, make sure you know where they came from and how they were grown, handled, and conditioned.

Many cut flowers are not grown with food contact in mind. They may be treated with floral products that are not intended for food. You wouldn't drink your vase water, would you?

When choosing your cake flowers, ask:

1. Were these flowers grown specifically for edible use?

⚠️ Ideally, they should be grown without floral conditioners or chemical treatments, harvested with clean practices, and handled and stored in a way that reduces the risk of contamination.

2. Are they a known edible variety?

⚠️ Some beautiful wedding flowers are not meant to be eaten. Ranunculus, delphinium, sweet peas, and hydrangeas are just a few examples of flowers to avoid placing directly on food.

Your wedding cake deserves flowers that are not only beautiful, but also grown with food safety in mind.

🧐A quick note: If you’ve ever had a cake decorated with toxic flowers, don’t panic. Most adults would likely need to consume the flowers themselves to experience an issue, and many people simply remove the flowers before serving. Food safety is about understanding exposure and reducing unnecessary risks—especially for more sensitive guests like children, pregnant guests, older adults, or those with health concerns.

The best choice is to use flowers that were intentionally grown for culinary use so everyone can enjoy your celebration with confidence. 🤍

That’s why I grow edible flowers specifically for events like weddings, birthdays, and celebrations.

Have questions about which flowers are safe to use? Leave a comment, I’d be happy to share more! 🤗

I had fun with this one.

This arrangement was created for FlowerMore's July Design Challenge, an online community of flower nerds hosted by Ellen Frost / FlowerMore

Sometimes it's nice to create something whimsical just because.

I hope this one made you smile as much as it did for me 😄

The amount of times I said "umm" 🙃
(Not including the ones I cropped out lol)

Can you tell I'm an engineer and not a public speaker for a reason 😅

Anyways! I wanted to share a behind the scenes look at what I do during the week to prep bouquets for you all for Farmers markets.

They are going to be GORGEOUS this weekend. Lisianthus are THE BEST flower in my opinion, super long vase, they can hold up out of water, and they look like roses.

It's taken me 3 years to nail down how to grow these well, but it's totally been worth it!

Think you know flowers?

Let's start a game!

Each week I'll share a close-up of something blooming on the farm. Some will be easy, some will be hard.

See if you can name it before revealing the answer.

Tag or send this to your favorite flower nerd and see if they know their stuff. 😉

What's your guess? 👇
