Last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest couple expecting their first baby. Everyone, Meet The Caldwells! We had a blast walking around Downtown Lake Forest, enjoying the beautiful day. It was a bit cold, but thankfully some Starbucks warmed us right up. Here is a sneak peek at their maternity session. This week I was able to capture my first newborn lifestyle session since moving to Chicagoland. Oh, what a joy it was!

I met with the sweetest little family, who were just so excited for their first family session together! We had the best time taking portraits of their sweet family, adorable newborn daughter, and as well just enjoying some fun holiday-themed portraits.

One of the reasons I love lifestyle photography the most is the fact that families can just be themselves, relax, and just have some fun. This is exactly what this sweet family did this weekend at their family session.

This last weekend, I met up with The Barton Family at Independence Grove in Libertyville. It was a cold day, but oh the sun was shining. We spent their session walking around, laughing a bunch, and just enjoying the day around us. Their daughter was in love with all the leaves and sticks on the ground, and just had a blast enjoying the nature around her.

Oh, what a fun session this was!

This last weekend, the forecast stated it was going to rain. A day where I had a family session scheduled here in Lake Bluff.

Typically, a lot of people reschedule. However, not for this adventrous and fun family. Instead, we decided to just have some fun and enjoy a little bit of rain.

So we met up for a mini session of playing in the rain, enjoying the beautiful forest around us, and just had a blast. Granted, we got soaked and it was cold. This was hands down one of the best sessions I've had. The laughter, the adventure, all of it was awesome.

Plus they brought the cutest umbrellas which made my photographer's heart soar. Aren't these so fun and cute?

Nothing makes me happier as a photographer than having the chance to capture two people in love. Shawn and Haley were not only one of the sweetest couples I've met. A few years ago, I began a journey unlike any other. A new start that would change my life forever. In the midst of my change in life, I found myself reaching out to others who were enduring or had endured what I was going through. In this process, I ended up meeting one of my favorite human beings ever. A person who was there for me even as I would lay in the hospital, someone who I wouldn't even meet for another year due to the pandemic. Someone who was there for me even virtually, and constantly was the best support and more.

This incredible person is Learha. Someone who has not only become such a great friend of mine, but also someone who truly will forever be a part of my life. Even with us being military wives and having distance between. We still will see each other, and will forever be a part of each other's lives.

Fortunately, we both are from the same hometown. Therefore, during Thanksgiving break. I was able to see her, and her sweet little family. It was the best time, and I was so elated to be able to see her again. The best part was we finally were able to get her family session done!

I loved every second of it and was so glad I got to see her while I was visiting my family. From the laughs we had, the rapping I did terribly, to her adorable and hilarious daughter's facial expression. It was the best day. Here is a sneak peek at their session!
