Today, DJK Radio looks back at a moment that would help change the course of popular music forever — the opening of Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee! 🌟

Founded by Sam Phillips, the studio became a legendary recording destination where the sounds of blues, country, gospel, and rhythm & blues collided to create something new: rock & roll. 🎶🔥

Sun Studio would become associated with some of the biggest names in music history, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbison.

What started as a recording studio became the birthplace of a musical revolution. The records made there helped define the sound of the 1950s and inspired generations of musicians that followed.
