I can’t stress this enough—you must like your venue’s Plan B. If you don’t, and the universe has other plans, you could be left with ceremony photos (and memories) that don’t reflect the day you envisioned.

Finding your venue is often the hardest part of the planning process. It sets the tone for everything—from the overall vibe and design aesthetic to the guest experience. And almost always, there’s one thing you don’t absolutely love.

Before you even begin site visits, create a must-have list with at least five non-negotiables. Think: estate setting, waterfront views, a strong rain plan, a spacious dance floor, or proximity to hotels with room blocks.

This day was pure magic from start to finish. While every detail was stunning, what truly stood out was the feeling — joy, laughter, and so much love shared among family and friends. It’s normal not to cry, not to feel swept away, not to have that “TV moment.” I dreamed about my wedding my whole life, so when each milestone came and I felt… underwhelmed, I thought something was wrong with me.
But nothing was wrong.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need tears or goosebumps to make the right choice. I didn’t cry picking my dress—I just liked how it fit and how it made me feel. That was enough.

Sometimes if you are waiting for that 'reaction' it might halt you from making a decision. You do not need to cry to know you found your dress or click instantly with the first photographer you talk to about your wedding.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So if you’re choosing a venue, vendor, or gown and you don’t have the reaction everyone says you “should”… pause. Remember who you are. Trust your own way of choosing. That in itself is the right feeling. ✨

Final Love Note to E+J |I cannot say more kind things about this beautiful couple. They were so honest, sweet, thoughtful, and caring throughout the entire planning process. Above all, they were kind and generous. I was so excited to see their dream come to life. I absolutely loved incorporating her monogram everywhere and anywhere throughout this wedding. It was the most wonderful day for the most wonderful couple!! Thank you again for allowing me to be a small part of your memory!!
