Eight years. 8 is said to be associated with the infinity symbol, representing continuous balance. Everything serving a purpose in the greater meaning of life. I am ever so grateful!
Whew... when I say this journey has stretched me, tested me, humbled me, and grown me, I mean every word.
Being a small business owner in the event design industry isn't just about creating beautiful celebrations. It's about showing up even when the bookings are slow. It's about believing in your vision during the stagnant seasons when it feels like everyone else is winning except you. It's about wondering if you should throw in the towel because you're mentally, emotionally, and financially exhausted.
I've experienced the highs, the sold-out calendars, the beautiful events, the happy clients, and the moments that reminded me I was walking in my purpose.
But I've also experienced the lows. The cancellations. The quiet seasons. The self-doubt. The tears no one sees. The moments where I questioned if I was truly good enough or if this dream was meant for me.
And yet... here I am.
Still standing. Still creating. Still believing.
Why?
Because my "why" is bigger than my weariness.
I know God didn't place this gift in my hands for me to abandon it when the road got hard. My purpose reaches beyond centerpieces and décor. It's about creating unforgettable moments, inspiring others to chase their dreams, showing my children what perseverance looks like, and proving that success isn't built by never falling—it's built by refusing to stay down.
So as I approach 8 years in business, I'm choosing gratitude over frustration. Every lesson, every setback, every victory has shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today.
To every small business owner in a slow season: Don't let a stagnant season convince you that your purpose has stopped growing. Sometimes God is developing you before He develops your next opportunity.
