In a world of texts, emails and instant replies, a handwritten note has quietly become a rarity, which makes receiving one feel even more meaningful.

Recently, two wonderful clients sent us notes that truly put wind in our sails. Their words reminded us why we do what we do: to listen closely, create thoughtfully and make every woman feel extraordinary in a gown designed especially for her.

Six extraordinary gowns designed by recent FIT graduates are currently displayed in vitrines along the Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue sides of the hotel’s main lobby, and we are especially proud that two were created by Paula’s students and recent graduates, Camila Ramos cam⭐️ and Ainsley Goldman, Fashion Design BFA ’26.

Camila’s pastel yellow gown features a beautifully hand-beaded bodice, complemented by rhinestone-beaded masks imported from the Dominican Republic.

Ainsley’s floor-length asymmetrical gown is crafted from cashmere-silk and tulle, then meticulously hand-beaded with onyx, tourmaline, quartz, and pyrite crystals.

As a FIT NYC Professor, Founder and CEO of Paula Varsalona Ltd, Paula was honored to join Ainsley for one of the evening’s guided tours, sharing her perspective on FIT’s distinguished Fashion Design program and the artistry, craftsmanship, and specialized techniques represented in these remarkable creations.

Seeing students develop their individual voices and then receive recognition in such a prestigious New York setting is one of the greatest rewards of teaching.

Congratulations, Camila and Ainsley! We could not be prouder of your accomplishments and cannot wait to see where your talent takes you next.
