fore the event, and smaller festivals in Europe. We wish to inspire you to connect deeper to your body & inner self, your partner & your community, and if you choose to, spirit. We are big on consent, choice, and helping people find their own inner boundaries of how they relate to touch and personal growth. We respect that everyone has their own journey to travel.

What is Fusion Dance? Fusion dancers use the many genres of partner dance to create personal, improvisational expressions of music. For examples of fusion dancing, check out the We are explorers of movement, connection & music. We are investigators and creators. Our community is built on respect, the willingness to say “yes” to new ideas, and the freedom to color outside the lines of traditional partner dancing. Each new dance is an entire experience unto itself. Be yourself... because everyone else is taken.

WELCOMING DJ TONY back to Motley Hue 2026! Tony has been a part of what has made Motley Hue special from the very beginning.

Our long-standing music coordinator, he’s spent over a decade traveling the fusion scene - hearing, recording, and DJing moments of musical magic.

We are so excited to be bringing back Motley Hue in 2026, and we wanted to share a few moments from last year so you can feel some of the expression that lives on this dance floor.

Motley Hue is a space for the curious, the devoted, and the open-hearted — where technique, play, and real human connection all meet each other.

Want to help make the weekend happen?

Our work-study program is a great way to support the festival while being part of the team behind the scenes.
✨ Volunteers help with things like:
- Working the door
- Setting up or closing down parties
- Running small tasks that help the event flow smoothly
✨ All work-study hours are refunded back toward your ticket.

Saturday night we gather at the beautiful Brooklyn Botanical Ballroom — an art deco space with an air-conditioned, tree-lined enclosure and plenty of room to move, explore, and dance as fully as the music calls you.

Registration is now live ✨🎉

This year at Motley Hue NYC, classes are structured across the full weekend — with space for depth, rest, and real growth.

🔥 Friday Night Special Topic (7–9pm before the dance)
We’re thrilled that Friday night will be taught and hosted by David Accurso from Olympia, Washington — a long-standing presence in the fusion community with deep cross-training across multiple dance forms. He’ll bring both cultural perspective and practical insight to open the weekend.

🌿 The Studio Track
Saturday 1–5pm
Our shared home base. Strong fundamentals, clear concepts, layered material, and a welcoming culture. This is where we build shared language so we can dance together across styles and backgrounds.

🌟 The Conservatory Track
Sunday 3–7pm
For experienced dancers ready for faster pacing, deeper nuance, and more rigorous feedback.
🎥 Video audition required.
By separating into two tracks, teachers can set clearer goals, and dancers can train in rooms aligned with their experience — strengthening the whole scene.
All classes are currently available through a Full Pass.
