People often ask me, “Who is Skylar Arden?” or “What does the name mean?”

The truth is, the name has been with me much longer than the business itself. “Skylar” was the name of my favorite soap opera character when I was a child, and “Arden” was my best friend and associate’s favorite name. We combined the two… and 11 years ago, Skylar Arden Events & Design was born.

What started as a name became something so much bigger. A business built on creativity, connection, storytelling, and celebrating people through meaningful events.

11 years later, I’m still so grateful for every client, vendor, friend, and supporter who has been part of this journey. Thank you to for my new photos!

One of my favorite locations to plan an event in the city is .kahn The architectural details feel like stepping back into a much older version of NY. While they can handle larger capacities for events I think 60-100 range is best so that there’s room left over to dance.

When an average person sees at an event is a pretty room of botanicals. What we know is the hours spent on calls, proposals, contracts and design. The chaotic experience picking up from the flower market, fighting to get a parking spot and trying to not getting ticketed. The cleaning of flowers one day. The production of design the next and the hours spent on production onsite and the pickup at the end of the night. Followed by cleaning of glassware and organizing the next. The events industry is full of small businesses doing the best they can day after day. It’s not the easiest life but most days it’s worth it.
