We love working at Burden Kahn Mansions. Here are some things to think about if you’re planning a wedding or event there that are logistic based. As well as the reasons why you need to hire a good experienced planner for this gorgeous venue.

~You’ll most likely need or want to add on additional hours to load in time because the elevator is small. We always stagger vendors regardless.
~It’s a historical venue so guidelines are strict. Flowers as an example need to be carted in and out to avoid glass breaking or spilling.
~The space comes with chairs & tables which is great but everything else you need to bring in down to a fork.
~Wanting to add in a lounge or speciality furniture? Sign us up, but we need to make sure that beautiful love seat is going to fit in the elevator.
~ It’s not a venue that a vendor can really skip on doing a site visit. An exception would be a photographer but anyone else really needs to visit prior to. It’s not a venue you want to figure out day if because you’ll loose lots of time even loading in.

This being said Burden Kahn is one of our favorite places in the city to work. Hire an experienced planner that will put their time into the process and you’ll have a beautiful experience.
