As the year comes to a close, we just wanted to take a moment to reflect and express our gratitude. It’s been an incredibly busy year, and while that’s a good thing, it has meant a bit of radio silence on our social media.

Thank you all for your continued support, whether you’ve worked with us, cheered us on, or simply followed along on our journey. We’re not quite sure what the new year will bring in terms of posts—whether we’ll be sharing more or keeping things behind the scenes— we’ll see where the path takes us!

This is also a unique view on our behind the scenes organization - rack dividers! These little heroes help us organize each show, character, and garment, ensuring smooth operations at BJC. When regal elegance meets craftsmanship excellence ⛪️

We're excited to share one of our favorite builds from Henry VIII; Cardinal Campeggio, the papal legate. The Cardinal's attire is a testament to our unwavering commitment to detail and artistry. The gracefully flowing train is strategically secured to the base jacket using a combination of snaps and hooks, ensuring wardrobe changes are effortless and seamless. The fashion fabric of the jacket was beautiful on both sides, so the design team chose to use the "wrong side" for the cumberbund and for internal contrast. This costume demands attention and respect, like the Cardinal himself!

Today, we're shining the spotlight on the remarkable Anne Boleyn and this magnificent gold dress featured in the production! Our team had the absolute pleasure of crafting several pieces for this stunning show, and we couldn't wait to share the intricate details of this breathtaking gown;

From the meticulous pattern matching across the bodice to the exquisite lacing and the beautifully designed faux chemise, every element of this costume was crafted with precision and dedication.

We are live, live, live, living for this dress! 💃

Check out this exquisite blue floral organza dress we had the pleasure of making this summer! Inspired by a vintage 50's cocktail dress, this garment boasts delicate ruching on the bodice to create a luxurious texture that perfectly complements the fabulous print. 😍

Shoutout to Costume Designer, Jen Moeller, whose creative genius brought this enchanting ensemble to life. BJC has had the opportunity to work with Jen before, such as on this past spring and on . We always love working with Jen and her team, we look forward to sharing more exciting Jen Moeller/BJC collaborations in the future!

Happy Opening Weekend, Here Lies Love!

For today's we're teasing one of our favorite projects which has yet to be released! BJC is constantly working on projects we cannot wait to show you. These darling bows are just the beginning of the stunning details soon to be revealed. The lined ruffles ending in delicately placed bows with artistically frayed edges are *chefs kiss*

We’re sew ready for the Funny Girl tour!

The first step BJC takes when intaking a new show is to select color matched thread for each fabric and trim. Due to our meticulous record keeping on previous builds we were able to quickly prepare and get to work right away! One of the many benefits of reordering with BJC! Here's a glimpse of our prep work. Can you unravel the mystery of which character these spools of thread are for? Hint: we’ve built for this character before!
