has been a constant presence in our shop over the past few years, and we’re always thrilled when the call comes in, it’s like catching up with an old friend you haven’t seen in a while.
Sacred Songs was especially meaningful for us. This ballet resurrects and reimagines a collection of spirituals from the original 1960 version of Ailey’s seminal Revelations that were later omitted. With Revelations being such an iconic work, both visually and emotionally, we had our work cut out for us to ensure the spirit remained intact while being seen on today’s dancers.
We hope you enjoy this work “an offering to our present need for lamentation, faith, and joy,” as the company so beautifully puts it.

Which means… less time to post than usual 😅 Amidst the chaos, I couldn’t help but pause to capture this look in progress. Who is this guy, and what’s his vibe?

Every stitch tells a story. 🧵✂️
Behind every BJC costume, there are trained hands making sure every detail from the set of a sleeve, to the application of a trim is tailored to the designer’s vision and the performer’s body. Here’s a glimpse behind the seams in our shop. ✨

A vision in pink. 🌸
This bustle gown, fondly nicknamed “Lobster Tail” in our shop, is one of the standout pieces we created for The Gilded Age Season 3. With its sweeping silhouette and intricate detail, it captures the elegance and extravagance of the era.
We’re so proud to see this design grace the screen. ✨

As the year comes to a close, we just wanted to take a moment to reflect and express our gratitude. It’s been an incredibly busy year, and while that’s a good thing, it has meant a bit of radio silence on our social media.

Thank you all for your continued support, whether you’ve worked with us, cheered us on, or simply followed along on our journey. We’re not quite sure what the new year will bring in terms of posts—whether we’ll be sharing more or keeping things behind the scenes— we’ll see where the path takes us!

Wishing you all a joyful holiday season and an amazing new year ahead. Cheers to whatever comes next!
