So, we have finally come to the time to reveal our new Program Coordinator?!?… Sydney!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Sydney Yu (she/her) is a TLM alum of 2023 and a recent graduate from Trinity. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, director/deviser, and actor who loves using media, music, and autobiographical storytelling as inspiration. 🎭🎬🎶

“It has been two years since I did the program, but I still often recall those moments where I felt overwhelmingly moved watching a show, or when I suddenly felt so encouraged to tell the stories I never thought to be so important to me during a workshop. I am truly grateful for the experience, and I am very excited to work with more young creatives and contribute my effort in making the program more vibrant!”

Welcome back, Sydney! 💙🗽

Come and support Zee Baird-Appleton’s (TLM’23) senior cornerstone next week! Spirit Gum is an Individual Major Studies of the Body in Motion Capstone.

📍Fairchild Chapel, Oberlin College
⏳May 4th, Sunday-May 6th, Tuesday

Equal parts campy, silly, uncomfortable, and dark, Spirit Gum is an adhesive made of alcohol and resin. It’s used to affix prosthetics and fake hair, and it’s also a dance show! One that uses multiple disciplines to explore communal identity and world-making, along with histories of dance and gender and how we collage them together, and repossess them. Spirit Gum is hard to digest and full of questions: How do we dress ourselves up without clothes? What shadows do we carry, and when and how do we bring them in?

“We can’t purge or clean up all this filth, but can we bend it into new ways of making?”

Kaia Douglas (TLM’23) gnaws on David Huebert’s story collection Chemical Valley looking for curious pockets of contaminated life amid this unhinged, ever-decaying world. In her lecture-turned-eulogy-turned-autobiographical clown show, we enter the inside of a blender where pickup trucks, fish, fever dreams, half-baked songs and your grandma’s to-do lists go to melt in the inevitable swamp.

👉McCormick Lecture Hall, College of the Atlantic
🕖Friday, April 11th - Sunday, April 13th, 7p.m.

Reserve your tickets! The show runs for 1 hour. Doors open at 6:50p.m. There will be a short talk back after each performance.

Kaia Douglas is a theatre artist and fourth-year student at College of the Atlantic.

”To me, home is a fluid concept.“
As an international student, my identity is shaped by staying in different places and interacting with different cultures. I look for a community every time I enter a new space.

Mycorrhizae are fungi that live inside and outside plants, creating a connected, underground network that transfers essential elements for life. Can we learn from plants to reimagine how we form communities? 🌿

📅 Join us for Xinyi’s senior thesis performance
🗓️ Thursday, April 10 & Friday, April 11
🕢 7:30 PM
👉Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts, Colby College

Xinyi Zhang (TLM’23) will be telling stories of our connections with plants and how that impacts our personal stories. This is not only an autobiographical performance, but a collective journey for you to reflect on plants and communities.

Come celebrate differences, find connections, and see yourself as part of this new interconnected community. 🌍🌱
