Brooklyn College Costume Shop and MFA/BFA Costume Design Program

The Department of Theater at Brooklyn College trains theater designers and technicians as well as actors, directors, dramaturges, and performing arts managers. Our faculty consists of working professionals invested in the art and craft of creating theater. The program consists of not only a vital academic curriculum, but also intensive, hands-on production work where what is studied in the classro

om is applied to the stage. Students design for the Department's productions including four Main Stage productions, Studio productions, and World Premiere play from Brooklyn College's playwriting program. A variety of internships, scholarships, and graduate assistantships are available. Additional awards are also available by application after the student's first year of study. Art is for all.
