The space I found in my heart
Stripped of judgement
Open and accepting
Genuinely concerned for other
To witness them and feel for them
In their pain, hurt and broken heartedness
The stories formulated
The narratives held tight
Protected and defended
All packed up
Heavy
Exhausting
Being lugged around
Old habits
Family secrets
Eating away
At this present moment
Showing up unexpectedly
From far under the rug
I feel it, for them and for myself
Listening into the running commentary in my head
That began as child
Looking to make sense
of the messages being presented
To ensure my acceptance
To secure my reception of love
To survive
To keep the triggers at bay
I feel for the choices I made
that seemed like the only way
Then
That I carried in my suitcase throughout my life
The reactions from others
That were loaded with their own history
That shaped my innocence
And took of my freedom
I see the reasons
And I see the cost
And I have compassion
For myself and for other

To be in the awareness that every crossroad is the power,

To decide how to proceed

To honor what I love
What I value
What is important to me

To forgive myself
For reacting and blaming
For prolonging the pain
For avoiding what was demanding the most attention

To know that each crossroad is a moment for introspection, consideration, and MY choice!!

Courage.
Being so deeply afraid and doing it anyway.
Gripping the ladder.
Feeling my racing heart.
Pulling myself up into the unknown.
Beyond the clouds.
Taking the unsteady steps into spaces unexplored.
Getting farther from was is safe and familiar, secure and reliable.
From what I told myself was the truth.
Fearful thoughts crowding my mind.
Uncertain of what will become.
Of how I will be received.
If I will be understood in the way I intend.
Secrets that held me hostage.
That kept me protecting other.
While abandoning myself.
When I was desperate to know.
To feel settled in my identity.
I did my best.
Navigating my landscape.
Full of abrupt cliffs and large mountains to climb.
Surviving with the tools I had.
Coping through my assumed narrative.
To make sense of it all.
To find a settled place within.
And then to question.
To allow myself to be curious.
Permission to lean into the voice inside that needed to know more.
A calling that was coming from a deep sense of knowing.
For what my soul had been yearning for all my life.
And I found it all waiting for me.
With the death of my grandfather.

The bouquet.

My favorite moment at the wedding is personally delivering the bridal bouquet!! It’s usually in the moments of fuss with the final make up and hair touch ups, helping the bride putting on her elegant shoes, the photographer catching some candid,behind the scene shots, and in I walk proudly holding a work of art intentionally created with all of the considerations for this stunning bride. And like magic it suits her perfectly, like we knew!!!! Which of course we did, and the oooos and aahhhs from the bride and all the friends and family around her never get old!!

I love the opportunity to embrace the spiritual timing and incorporate it into our design and aesthetic. This fabulous wedding was back in September, right before the Jewish new year, so we tied wooden honey dipper to each place card. The ex*****on was stunning and the guests really appreciated the sentiment. It’s all the little details that build a memorable experience.
