14 years together, 9 years married. We’ve lived in 4 different states, changed careers, and reshaped our goals, hopes, and dreams along the way. Our pack has grown — one amazing dog, five chickens, and goats coming soon.

Life has thrown us curveballs and tested us repeatedly, but through it all it’s shown us that showing up for one another, in both the small and monumental ways, is the constant we need. There’s no storm we cannot weather as a team.

We remain steadfast and grateful for the immeasurable growth we’ve experienced — especially that we grew together, in the same direction.

Engaged after 10 months of dating. I rationalized the quick engagement by thinking “when you know, you know”. I thought I met the man of my dreams, I was very wrong. COVID hit and he was all of a sudden the crazy man yelling at the ACE Hardware employee for asking him to wear a mask. My office closed and everyone started working from home. My employer offered to pay for my cell phone bill — the first time I submitted our AT&T bill I took a look at the numbers he was calling/texting. After Googling a few of the #’s I realized he was seeing escorts regularly. I waited until he left for work one day, packed up my car and left the AT&T bill on the counter. We were divorced shortly after and I never spoke to him again. 5 years later and I’m in the best relationship I’ve ever been in.

After 10 apartments, one wedding, and two babies in NYC we moved back to Nola. about to celebrate 17 years probably on a soccer field or a volleyball court. Lots of laughs and some aggravations, I would do it all again.

First date was the Phish, 1997, two days before NYE at MSG. Next was the premiere of “Half Baked” starring David Chapelle. 28 years and two kids later, they’re still going strong.

Next year we will be celebrating our 25th year. Our son is now 22 and our daughter is 16. My husband has gifted me trinkets over the years. The most valuable to me are the two rings I have added to my daily stack to celebrate our 20th and a trip to Paris. An antique locket ring engraved El Fideliter and a LOVE stencil ring. We’ve chosen to focus on our careers and invest in ourselves so we can have that “f(ck off” money to walk away from jobs or situations that no longer serve us. My husband is now a nurse practitioner and I started a jewelry business at 48yrs old during c0vid. I still wear my old engagement ring and wedding bands as a constant reminder that for some, fairy tales do come true.

Almost 13 years later, still in love. Parenting, parents, and all the things life can throw at us. We’re here for it. Felt it was time for an upgrade, for no reason other than I deserve it.

I married my college sweetheart in 2017. After 5 rounds of IVF that finally gave us our daughter, we left NYC during the mass exodus of 2021. Not long after, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and came terrifyingly close to dying. In 2023, I took everything I survived and built a national nonprofit for young women facing the same nightmare. Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of women across the country find resources, community, and hope. We tried to grow our family again, this time through a surrogate and donor DNA, but our only embryo didn’t make it. And just last week, we lost one of my parents to cancer. Grief has a way of rearranging everything you think you know about love. Somewhere inside all of that, my husband bought me a new diamond and had it set beside my original one. Not because the old one didn’t matter, but because what we’ve survived deserves a symbol. A marker. A reminder that somehow, through every seemingly impossible situation we find ourselves in, we’re still here.

Eight years ago, I was engaged, living in New York, and everything seemed picture-perfect—from the Instagram-worthy ring to a dream destination wedding. But once life got real and we had kids, it just didn’t work out. My ex brought me to the UK and left me just a month and a half later. Now, as a single mom of three, I’m rebuilding my life, feeling empowered and excited. I celebrated my 40th birthday with a festive manicure, and I’m embracing this new chapter. Life didn’t turn out as I expected, but I’m here for it, and I truly believe everything happens for a reason.

My big, shiny ring was featured in 2016. My college boyfriend and I got married in 2017 and divorced in 2020—just weeks before the pandemic shutdown. I’m a nurse at our community hospital in upstate NY, so life didn’t change much for me. I still went to work every day and indulged in the new norm of takeout and to-go cocktails. One of the anesthesiologists actually bought my engagement ring for his wife. I ended up getting together with a longtime coworker who was also getting divorced. He had a one-year-old at the time. We got married in 2023. My stepdaughter is now 7, and we have four kids of our own—including a surprise set of twins (haha). My new ring is less shiny, and life is way more full.

October 10th marks ten years of marriage and twenty-two incredible years together. Our journey hasn’t always been simple, especially navigating the challenges of the last two years. Yet, looking back at all we’ve built, the trips we’ve taken, the dog we welcomed, and our beautiful son who soon followed, it’s clear that the good profoundly outweighs the hard. Through job losses and all the resulting stress, my answer will always be us. I will always choose what we have. In the 1st photo is my updated stack, an antique European cut half hoop ring my husband gave me before our son was born.
