Over the years I've had the opportunity to conduct several ensembles in New York, including several seasons as the conductor of the Goldman Memorial Band. Having played in concert bands in high school and college it was great fun to work with the GMB.

One of the all-time great violinists, Aaron Rosand passed recently. He was 92. I worked with Aaron several times including performing the Mendelssohn violin concerto on two occasions in New York. He was always very generous with his time when mentoring young musicians. This photo was from a performance with Aaron at the Manhattan Center around 1987 playing Saint-Saens' "Havanaise."
