Things go wrong at events - not every time, but there's always a chance of challenges popping up onsite.

As an event producer, one of the most powerful things I bring to show day is a solid A/V backup plan. In this video, I share simple ways to avoid tech disasters—from double-mic setups to what “main and backup devices” actually means.

If you’ve ever dealt with a dead mic, frozen video, or late crew, this one’s for you.

Last month, we had our bi-monthly meet-up for the Event Pros Book Club. We discussed “Who Better Than You?: The Art of Healthy Arrogance and Dreaming Big” by Will Packer.

We talked about how we could embody healthy arrogance and not asking for permission to go after our goals/ambitions. Another key point was talking about the power of saying your goals or intentions out loud. Whether that's with a vision board, affirmations, or even Jackie, a book club member, shared her take on visualization with a bingo board.

Thank you to Deci, JoAnna, Anca, Elisabeth, Jackie, Merix, and Marisa for joining!

An incredible night supporting a great cause here in Seattle 💙

Last month, I had the pleasure of working for Mary and the EP Events - Events with a Purpose team as stage manager for SF’s annual fundraising event. From coordinating over 20 live auction items and 12+ raffles to cueing performances and speakers — this one kept us on our toes in the best way!

Always a joy working alongside such talented event pros to bring events like this to life.

Another year, another incredible event with the Pacific Logging Congress! 🌲🎤

I’ve had the pleasure of working with PLC for several years to help bring their general sessions to life — from cueing speakers to keeping things flowing behind the scenes.

This was peak multi-tasking: running PowerPoints, managing virtual presenters in Zoom, and switching inputs to the screens. Wearing many hats is part of the fun — and seeing it all come together on show day never gets old.

Earlier this month, we tapped into the event pro magic at the virtual day of the 2025 Better Events Conference. Mary and I brought together 70+ event pros for a virtual day of connection and engagement. From hearing real-talk from executives who've been there to breaking down tangible event tasks with AI, I loved every minute of it.

We still have time before our in-person day of the Better Events Conference, inspired by our community from the Better Events Podcast. Join us on Thursday, December 18th at the Labour Temple in Seattle from 9AM-5PM and see what we mean when we say 'event magic.'

Our in-person tickets include access to the recordings from our virtual day and if you joined us virtually, there's still time to upgrade your ticket to include the in-person day. Visit this link to purchase or send us an email: https://bettereventspod.com/conference

Last month, we had our bi-monthly meet-up for the Event Pros Book Club. We discussed "The Let Them Theory" by Mel Robbins.

We discussed being okay with limbo and how relationships can be seasonal, and that's okay. A great quote came up from Lorne Michaels about SNL: "The show doesn't go on because it's ready; it goes on because it's 11:30pm," alluding to the SNL scheduled start time. We also talked about contracts/applying "Let Them" to vendor negotiations

Thank you to Jackie, Elisabeth, Shanondoah, Krystal, Dena, Marisa, and Therese for joining!

Another year, another US Open tennis championship in the books! I got to wear two hats this year, alternating between court managing at Grandstand and producing at Stadium 17 🎾

Tennis in NYC never disappoints and always a fun one ushering in the end of summer and start of fall with top tier tennis. Thanks to the team for having me!

Meet Logan

Hi, I’m Logan

I first fell in love with events as a banquet server at a country club in college. It was the first time I saw the amount of work that went into creating a few memorable hours for the guests. Over the years, I’ve continued to fall in love with the planning process and details that go into making an event happen.

I graduated with a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Virginia. In 2014, I moved to Shanghai to utilize my Mandarin language skills and explore the international sports market. I started working in social media marketing but quickly realized that I had the most fun at live events and working with people. In October 2016, I founded Logan Strategy Group to create and execute quality events in China, the US, and around the world. I recently moved to Seattle, WA and currently split my time between the US and abroad.

Over the last 6 years, I’ve worked with companies of all sizes, including sports teams, brands, universities, non-profits, and individuals. I’ve been a one-woman show all the way up through working on a team for a large-scale event. In 2019, I was a sports presentation producer for professional volleyball with the FIVB, organized a non-profit gala, served as an assistant for a VIP reception, stage-managed a college basketball tournament, co-organized the annual TEDxSeattleWomen event, and led player transportation for a pro tennis tournament.
