Meet our lovely wedding couple Oliver and Sylvia.

For their wedding dance they chose the beautiful song, I am yours by Andy Grammer.
They wanted a simple and classy choreography. Sylvia had prior dance experience and moved gracefully and had beautiful lines and arm movements which I wanted to incorporate in the choreography. Oliver was new to dancing but was really devoted to not only learning the steps but to really learn how to dance and lead well and present his beautiful bride, a true gentleman.

We put the routine together quickly and they came well-rehearsed to each lesson so we could quickly get into details and lead/follow.
I was very impressed of their devotion and how quickly they improved.

It was a true pleasure to work with this sweet couple and they performed the dance beautifully on their big day.

Here are Oliver and Sylvia’s own words:

“My wife and I decided that we wanted to do some dance lessons to learn a routine for our first dance at our wedding, and we were so lucky to find Robert.

He’s extremely organized and prompt, which made setting up our lessons simple. At first, we had decided to sign up for two lessons, but after the first lesson, we both enjoyed it so much that we immediately contacted Robert to sign up for a third.

When setting up our first lesson, we told Robert what song we were planning to use for our first dance, and by the time we arrived at the studio for our first lesson, he had already choreographed a routine tailored to our song.

He walked us through the routine step by step and was able to make changes on the fly if we ran into any issues with timing or felt like there was a move that we weren’t comfortable with. Robert is incredibly talented, patient, and encouraging, and he filled us with confidence leading into our wedding!

Thanks to Robert’s lessons, my wife and I both agree that our first dance was one of our absolute favorite memories from our wedding day. Robert is an absolute gem, and we couldn’t recommend him enough for dance lessons.”

Meet our wonderful couple Renee and Scott!

For their wedding dance Renee and Scott had found a slowed down acoustic version of an electronic music song that they both really like, ”Brightest Lights” by Lane 8.

For the choreography I wanted to match the subtle mood changes in the music giving them moments to enjoy dancing together and enjoy the song, aswell as moments to WOW their guests. I think we were able to strike a good balance and by the sound of their guests they were very impressed!

It was a delight for me to work with these two sweet people. And with no prior dance experience Renee and Scott really shined like the “brightest lights” nailing every step of the routine on their Big Day!

Meet this adorable wedding couple, Jacqueline and Derek!

This couple did three dances and I helped them with two of them.
For their traditional First Dance Jacqueline and Derek had a few songs in mind and wanted my input. Together we came to a decision to use a song by a Chinese singer, but performed in English (as their other songs were in Chinese, but they had both English and Chinese speaking guests). It’s an absolutely beautiful piano ballad, “My Only” by Zhou Shen and I used a lot of the lyrics to tie in with the moves to give Jacqueline and Derek a very romantic and elegant dance together.

For their second dance we went a bit more upbeat with “A little Sweet” (English translation) by Silence Wang feat. By2. To this song I helped them with a more K-pop-style dance and we ended it in a beautiful lift and a “down on one knee”- pose and kiss.

It was a lot of fun working with these two love birds! They came to our lessons well-rehearsed and tried everything I threw at them with a smile! I’m very impressed with them!

This is what Jacqueline and Derek wrote about their wedding dance experience;

“Our dance at the wedding was a series, a typical first dance, a group dance with friends, and another couple dance with another song. Nina helped us with the first dance and third dance, and also helped us design the transition between each of the songs.

I have so much good things to say about Nina. She is patient, detail-oriented, and knows exactly how to teach. The choreography was also the exact right level of difficulty that we can handle (we both had zero experience dancing…) while looking so elegant and beautiful.

Plus, we chose songs that were in a foreign language that Nina did not speak. She would ask us the meaning of the lyrics so she can design the movements accordingly. She also helped us edit the music so smoothly!
Nina brings so much fun to us, and we enjoyed every class we had with her, making dancing classes definitely the top two fun things in our wedding prep (the other being cake tasting). It was so nice to have Nina be our instructor!”

The benefits of Wedding Dance Lessons!

Meet one of our stunning couples, Nicolette and Matt. They had found a beautiful acoustic song, “Is This Love” by Luke Burr and wanted something simple yet elegant for their first dance and to feel confident dancing together on their big day.

For the choreography I wanted of course to honor their wishes and to capture the beautiful vibe of their acoustic song. I gave them a lot of time dancing intimately together, but I also added a few flashy moves to challenge them a little and to give the dance some dynamics and that WOW-effect!

It was such a pleasure for me to work with Nicolette and Matt and they danced their dance beautifully on their big day.
