A couple of years ago, our Powered by Professionals team had the chance to visit Harlem Grown during a volunteer day. We spent time on their farms, learned about their incredible programming, and saw firsthand the impact they’re making in the Harlem community. It was a powerful reminder of how hands-on work and local action can strengthen entire neighborhoods.
Today, Harlem Grown, one of our longtime charity partner's, is stepping up once again for New York City families at a critical time, and here is how you can help.
With ongoing federal funding challenges, families across the city are facing possible disruptions and delays to their SNAP benefits this month. This uncertainty will ripple through our communities, especially affecting children and working families who rely on this essential food support.
Harlem Grown’s farmstands provide free, fresh, healthy produce year-round, ensuring Harlem families have access to nutritious food when they need it most. To date, they have distributed more than 150,000 pounds of food to over 14,000 families, and the need continues to grow.
