HEY HOLLYWOOD! I’ve been working hard on this for some time now. A monthly $5 show where bands don’t pay to play, make 100% of the door and can have an unlimited guest list. I’m proud to announce THE $5 ROCK SHOW has arrived!! I’ve been doing this in NYC for 10+ years and finally have it up and running here in Hollywood! Premiere show 8PM THURS SEPT 18th at Three Clubs (Hollywood & Vine) featuring The Darbies, Johnny Nasty Boots, The Stellar Bandits and from the UK, Juliet’s Not Dead. There are so many amazing bands here in Hollywood, which is great, sad part is for most of them to play, they have to pay. It’s out of control! Now listen, a bar has to make money to afford costs so bands can play and to keep the lights on. I totally get that so the bands do need to do their part to promote and get people in the door but also deserve their fair share for doing so. One promoter (not venue) out here charges bands $250 to play and after that is met at the door (by people who paid and said band name) then the band gets paid 100% of door. So they pretty much have to bring 25 people before they see a dime. This promoter books 15 bands per show. You do the math. Crazy AND my question is…what does that promoter actually bring to the table? Do they have such a following that bands benefit? Doubtful. They do deserve to get paid for the work but this is out of control. It’s time to change the game here in Hollywood. Big announcement coming Friday. Hint below. 🤘🏽
