Quincy Jones
❤️
The greatest producer and soundtrack composer of all time, the coolest, the most quotable. Beautiful transcendent man.
They say never to meet your heroes, but Q proved that wrong. We met in Montreux, at the Montreux Jazz Festival, one of his favorite places. His first question to me was, “What’s your sign, girl?” I answered, and from that moment on, we Pisces were fast friends.
Wherever we were, someone would magically appear with popsicles. He’s still the only person I have ever met who can make a popsicle elegant. Everything he was and everything he did was pure. Pure love, pure passion, pure humility, pure joy. His way of living life was beyond. Every space he entered was illuminated with his heart, humor, wit, impeccable taste, and a style that was truly his own. Q loved dancing, storytelling, radical honesty, blue dream, good shoes, sugar free popsicles… he had the adventurous spirit of a child with deep wisdom of a prophet.
I have looked up to Quincy since my days as a girl working in a record shop in Arizona. His productions, his magic, his soul…. nothing else sounded like Quincy, and nothing ever will. Forever one of the greatest joys of my career/life was the gift of working as his dj along for The Art of Elysium alongside Stevie Wonder. Magic moments!
As Q transitions to his next adventure, I hope he feels how deeply loved and cherished he is by all the souls he ever touched. Thank you for your spiritual teachings and all of the music. Love you Q.

It connects us all on a level that words alone cannot reach.”
