More details do not mean a better wedding.

It usually means more decisions, more cost, and more mental energy spent on things your guests will never notice.

What they will remember is how welcome they felt. How present you were. How the day actually moved.

Thoughtful and simple almost always wins.

Save this if you are trying to simplify your planning.
Share this with someone who is in their head about every detail.

How much does a wedding in New York actually cost?

This is one of the first questions couples ask, and one of the hardest to answer without context.

For many couples planning weddings in New York and the Hudson Valley, the overall investment often falls between $45,000 and $90,000+, depending on guest count, venue, catering, and the overall experience they want to create.

Guest count plays a major role in the budget.

An 80-guest wedding may fall closer to $40,000 to $55,000 in this market, while larger celebrations with 120 to 150 guests often increase significantly once catering, rentals, florals, entertainment, and service fees are factored in.

Full wedding weekends, custom design elements, and highly personalized guest experiences can also quickly push the budget upward.

These numbers are not meant to overwhelm you.
They are meant to help you plan with more clarity and intention from the beginning.

Save this as a starting point while building your wedding budget.

No one talks about this part of your wedding day.

You spend months planning.

Then the day comes
And it moves fast.

Faster than you expect.

The biggest regret I hear?

“I wish I had slowed down and taken it in.”

No more decor.
Not different flowers.
Not a bigger guest list.

Just… being present.

This is why support matters.

So you’re not answering questions
or managing anything.

You’re actually there for it.

Save this before your wedding day comes and goes.

At our wedding, we invited about 60 guests.

From the beginning, we knew we wanted a celebration where we could spend real time with the people who mattered most to us.

One of the most meaningful things we did was write a handwritten letter to every guest.

In each note, we shared why their presence meant so much and why we wanted them there with us that day.

It was a small gesture, but it created one of the most memorable parts of the celebration.

Many guests still talk about those letters today.

This is one of the things couples often discover when planning an intimate wedding.

A smaller guest list creates space for thoughtful details that make the day feel personal and meaningful.

If you are planning a New York or Hudson Valley wedding and considering an intimate celebration, these small moments often become the ones people remember most.

Save this if you love the idea of creating a personal guest experience.

Not every couple spends their wedding budget the same way.

What matters most to you should guide where you invest.

Some couples prioritize photography so their memories are captured beautifully.

Others focus on guest experience through food, music, games, and atmosphere.

Common priorities I see with couples planning weddings in New York and the Hudson Valley include

-a beautiful venue
-strong photography
-memorable food and drinks
-entertainment
-thoughtful design details

There is no right or wrong way to allocate your budget.

What matters is that it reflects what you value most.

Save this while you decide what matters most for your wedding.

If you need help aligning your budget with your vision, I’d love to guide you.

Rushed decisions often lead to second-guessing.

Thoughtful decisions make a day feel cohesive from start to finish.

This matters even more when planning a New York or Hudson Valley wedding, where timing and logistics play a big role.

Save this if you want your wedding to feel intentional.
If you want help building a clear plan, I would love to guide you through it.

Send this to the person you’re planning your wedding with.

You don’t need to agree on everything.

But you do need to stay aligned on what matters.

Because wedding planning is not just logistics.

It’s decisions.
Time.
Energy.

And when it starts to feel like a lot,
it’s easy to get overwhelmed or frustrated.

Come back to this:

What do we actually care about?
What do we want this to feel like?

Everything else can be guided from there.

Save this for later
Or send it to your partner so you can stay grounded together.
