As we know, pan is the national instrument of Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 and one of our greatest gifts to the world. Born in Trinidad & Tobago in the 20th century, the steelpan grew from our people’s creativity, resilience and rhythm, transforming discarded steel drums into a musical instrument now played around the globe.

In 2026, the City of Orange offered us the opportunity of a lifetime, and we took it.

But in this business, one hand does not clap. 🇹🇹

This year is our pilot year. This is the year we prove that Trinidad Day belongs, that our culture deserves this platform, and that our community will show up and represent.

Year One of the Historic Trinidad Day begins in 2027. That’s when we’ll have the opportunity to incorporate everyone and take this celebration to another level.

For now, 2026 has one mission: PROVE THAT WE BELONG. 🇹🇹

Happy Emancipation Day Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹

On August 1st, we honor one of the most important chapters in our history. The Slavery Abolition Act came into effect on August 1st, 1834, beginning a new era of freedom for enslaved Africans in Trinidad and across the British Empire.

August 1st, 1838 would later mark full emancipation across the British Caribbean. Today, we remember the strength, resilience, resistance and sacrifices of our African ancestors, while celebrating the culture and traditions they passed down through generations.

In 2026, we commemorate 188 years since full emancipation.
