Gail Bruce, Founder of HipSilver
This has to stop - and NOW.
Mortified and in tears, I watched the news last night and saw the 45th mass murder that has taken place this year in America.
Gun control in this country is desperately needed, and immediately.
I was blessed to have a father who taught me how to safely use a shotgun at age 13, and the delight of my young life was being allowed to go hunting with he and his buddies, which I did until my mid twenties, when he took me to his gun club.
We went into the field with his labrador retriever. The dog scouted out a pheasant hiding under a bush. My dad kicked at it, so we could shoot it in flight. It wouldn’t move. It was too terrified. At that point I put my gun down and never picked it up again.
Very few people murdered one another in cold blood in those days, except criminals.
Now we have children killing each other because they have access to guns.
Parents are responsible for their children’s actions.
Thank heavens the courts are beginning to hold them both accountable.
Please stay safe out there.

Indian Country lost a Cultural Warrior recently when N. Scott Momaday left his body, and I lost a treasured friend and early champion of the American Indian College Fund.

He was there when the American Indian Higher Education Consortium’s Cultural Learning Center Initiative was launched, and 29 Cultural Centers were built on tribal college campuses in 12 states. In the first few minutes of the attached link is Scott’s introduction to the project, speaking about the importance of cultural preservation.

What a difference he made on this life walk, and how blessed we are to have experienced this national treasure.

Message from Gail Bruce, CEO of Ramscale Productions, Inc.

Last week my friend Sarah Sense came to visit me at Ramscale with her family. Renowned Native artist, writer, curator, and activist, Sarah had her first New York one-women show at the Bruce Silverstein gallery.

Titled "Powered Lines," Sense's exhibition features two-dimensional photo weavings and three-dimensional photo baskets, created from techniques developed from her Chitimacha and Choctaw family.

The exhibition is taking place from September 22 - November 5th, 2022 at the Bruce Silverstein gallery 529 West 20th Street 3rd Floor New York, NY 10011. I encourage you to visit and see her incredible work influenced by traditional weaving.

Visit ramscale at www.ramscale.com and learn more about Sarah's exhibition at https://www.brucesilverstein.com/

With Fall just around around the corner we are excited to get back to events like this, but in order to we must follow the new COVID protocols.

~~~~~
COVID PROTOCOL:
Per New York City regulations and effective immediately, all guests must provide vaccine verification and matching identification in order to be permitted access to the venue for all events
Onsite Venue Managers will facilitate vaccine verification up on entry
All Clients must sign a COVID Waiver in order to be granted possession of the space (not sure if that’s a fun one for social)
Generally, we want to be ahead of all city, state, and federal guidelines in order to ensure safe, successful events for our clients. We believe vaccines work and want to get back to normal as soon as possible.
