Somewhere in time... it's 1887 Newburgh with local ads of the "must have" traditions for the New Year reveling of ladies and gentlmen. Smart clothing of lavish fabrics, polished shoes, and pressed hats. A tussie bouquet of hothouse, lily of the valley or maybe sweet roses. New lithographed, calling cards for proper introduction and intention. And...a beautiful, bound diary to pen your upcoming appointments, thoughts & dreams in the new year. I love it all-don't you?

Our Christmas card this year. Merry merry to all our Fbk friends. 2 legged and 4 :))

People always ask...so 1 of my favorites are here-Winter Anemones. Also nicknamed Windlfowers and Pandas. However you prefer their name, they are such a very special creature of personality in so many colors & stripes. Appearing so fragile yet surprisingly resilient, long lasting, nyncanastic (closes at night when cold), and ...they smile at you. :)

Some of the floral wreath orders today; so striking the red, white, and blue, just like our flag. One was also to honor the horses and mules who, without them I think the wars could not have been won-they were the backbone of the soldiers with near 8 million in WW1 & 6 million in WW2 served and perished. And...the 1000's of dogs. Tuesday Nov. 11 is Veterans Day-even if you just put a flag or a single flower-put something at a place or in your home to give them thought. ๐ŸŒบ

Halloween...what do you remember most?
I remember such excitement, the smell of the candle burning the pumpkin, paper treat bags, and the costume in a box with...... those masks. I never thought some horible thing was out there to get me nor did house displays scare you to death-there are some real uglies out there now. No, it was scarey just because it was dark with only lit up Jacks on the porches :)

Such uninhibited faith. Couldn't breathe-couldn't see-but dressed up to go knock on strangers doors in the dark. ..those were truly the good old days. :))๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸŽƒ

I always feel that grave remembrances no matter the size or design should be just as pretty as any you would have given them when they were here.
Faux flowers for a pretty Autumn stone spray-no one is ever lost if they are not forgotten. ๐Ÿ˜‡

A clip from my blog post online........It was a cold January night 15 years ago-forever winding around the UT mountain looking for it. Almost hidden, under a dim light it appeared-a small engraved, boulder. It was so secluded that it seemed a secret, but that was the point and his. If you knew, you knew or, just kept on driving by. My time at Sundance was one of my fondest travels as he was one of 3 of my eco warrior, mentors. I relished every minute being there and it was obvious why he kept acting when he'd rather not, it was to save these mountains and this place. So when I got home I created the River Runs Bowl to add in my Flowers For A Cause section to benefit the Redford Institute. I am grateful for all he inspired in me and I will miss his presence in the world.

Summer is tough for this winter girl-read and chuckle if you are a kindred.... ๐Ÿฅต I welcomed my new museum vases/luminaries of all the best in Tiffany, Monet, Morris, Van gogh, etc. I was excited, so beautifully done, fold flat, portable, BPA free, inexpensive, just fill with water to expand, add flowers or candle etc.- super- I love them and so will you....

However, in all my wisdom (with Jazzy watching intently), I flipped, pushed, tapped, and huffed for an hour but no candle light-ok back they go I say-lemons. When I huff Jazzy huffs, so we took a suffocating 2 minute walk. Back in I set them out to display anyway-filled with water-flowers in one and candle in another and walked away. I have zero patience with things that do not work. I'll reorder.
:(
A minute later I walk by and candle is lit! They are water activated-isn't it always the little things that kick you? I can't. lol It's just too hot.
