Many consider the Eldora Ballroom to be one of the true hidden gems of the area. Located along State Route 118, the current ballroom was built by local band leader, Earl Baltes, in 1948 to replace the original ballroom he had purchased from Mrs. Over the years, the Eldora Ballroom has hosted a variety of events ranging from bands, dance nights, banquets, receptions, blood drives, private parties, and more. Between 2023 & 2024, the historic ballroom underwent a massive renovation project exceeding $2 million. The Eldora Ballroom now features beautiful exposed rafters, a state of the art full commercial kitchen capable of catering large groups, a giant HD LED video board, multiple large HD TVs, a swanky bar/cocktail area, a VIP room, and an outdoor patio and gathering space that overlooks a large glistening pond along with the World's Greatest Dirt Trackยฎ - Eldora Speedway.

Taking place today at 2:30pm, the Eldora Ballroom will become a place for race fans to hear the stories, memories, and personalities that have helped shape our sport.

The Ballroom Sessions is a new, ongoing series that will return during future major events, bringing notable figures from racing together for candid conversations and interactions. Esteemed motorsports historian and storyteller Dave Argabright will serve as the programโ€™s anchor, guiding each session alongside special guests and fellow hosts.

Volume I will feature three-time World 100 champion Jeff Purvis, 1976 World 100 winner Charlie Hughes and โ€œEldoraโ€™s Favorite Son,โ€ Jack Hewitt. Argabright will be joined by Dustin Jarrett as they revisit memorable moments, share plenty of racing stories and remember the late Larry Moore.

The appearance of Purvis and Hughesโ€”neither of whom has been back to Eldora in many yearsโ€”will make this inaugural gathering an especially rare treat for longtime fans.

Throughout the week, the Ballroom will also feature a special Larry Moore display containing many of his personal artifacts, trophies and other treasured memorabilia.

The Ballroom Sessions is free to attend and seating is first come first served.
