Hard to believe September is almost over, so today I’m sharing a favorite late-September wedding.

Kayla + Luke’s day was just so dang fun. Look at all of that JOY!

And here’s the best part: with the ceremony outside and the party inside, nobody was watching the sky or scrambling to make a plan B. Everything was already taken care of, so they got to be fully present with their people. That’s what we build every wedding around.

What’s one thing I hear over and over again on venue tours?

“We really want to be at our cocktail hour.”

And, I love giving you the reassurance that, yes, you CAN. And, it’s even easier to pull off at our venue.

If you do a first look, this one is simple. Most of your photos get knocked out beforehand, so once the ceremony ends, you’re free to walk straight into cocktail hour and just be with your people.

But, we understand first looks aren’t for everyone. And that’s okay (you do whatever you want for your day!). Skipping the first look does not mean you have to miss experiencing your cocktail hour though.

It really comes down to two things.

First, our layout. Our cocktail hour patios connect directly to the ceremony locations, reception space, and our main photo spots. That means you can slip away for pre-planned photos while your guests get cocktail hour started, then come right back and see all of your decor and taste all of those apps you spent so much time selecting. (You worked hard on that menu, you deserve to enjoy it!)

Second, your coordinator. An expert from BLAKE EVENTS • Wedding + Event Planning • PA, MD, Destination who knows how to maximize your timeline and stay in sync with your vendors, especially your photographer, makes all the difference in getting you back to your own party as quickly as possible. This doesn’t happen by accident or by luck. Your coordinator listens to your wishes, makes recommendations based on their knowledge of Hazelwood, and helps you design a day that reflects your priorities.

At the end of the day, this is your celebration too. We want you fully in it, not just photographed at it!
