The Tigermen Den

The Tigermen Den The Tigermen Den is a historically restored 1830's corner store located in the Bywater neighborhood Welcome to the Corner.. where Royal meets Clouet.. Needs?

where arts meet events… where history meets the future…. Welcome to the Tigermen Den.

3113 Royal st, built circa 1830's according to New Orleans Historical Records. A corner dry goods store.. built by a father for his daughter. In early day of the Bywater's formation you could see the river from Royal st.. where small fruit tree fields stretched between the scattered homes, many immigrant movin

g to New Orleans found there way to the Bywater as the French Quarter filled. A 180 years later the doors of the great historical architectural gem are re open after a few decade of sparse use. The Tigermen Den is a new kind of corner store… a shop for the arts, new ideas, events, moments and magic. And once again, as the French Quarter fills with a certain type of tourism, residents and visitors a like turn to the Bywater in search of something new and expansive. We are a family run business and have been members of the Bywater community for over a decade, which makes us babies compared the the deep rooted history of all that is around us. In the last few year we have felt the dawn of a new era in our once sleepy neighborhood. And as Preservation Hall has continued to hold down the roots and traditions of New Orleans music in the French Quarter, The Tigermen Den sets out to hold down the authentic nature of the many artists and performs who have called the Bywater home. The most enchanting quality, upon entering The Den, is its bones. They draw you in and tell you stories. Old growth trees used to build barges that sailed down the Mississippi River 200 years of years ago where disassembled at the dock blocks away and turned into the structures that housed the lives of New Orleans residents. We have taken upon the task of Historical restoring the building, letting the simple elegance of what once was to shine and become the back drop to the stories of today. The next step in our journey with this space is to let you all know we are here! So what are we? A Multi use space ready to adapt and grow
