Happy Friday and Happy New Year! I feel it's time for an update.

This year, this 2020, has been...what's the word...nope...there are no proper words to describe it. A lot of things have been going on in the world and right here in my little bubble...a lot as well.

This time last year, my business partner and I decided to relaunch The Palette Social, getting us back to our roots with art parties and large hands-on demonstrations. We had an open house in January with plans to do pretty epic projects. Then Covid happened. Considering that our bread and butter came from actual gatherings of people, the business died a quick death. We had plans to do virtual workshops, but couldn't get out of our own depression long enough to make it happen. Summer and Fall came and went. Then, I lost my business partner. Wait, no, she's alive and well...she just moved away. We talked before her final decision to leave and we both agreed that our business wasn't doing what we anticipated and that it's probably better to call it and walk away. So, that's what we did.

As an artist, I CAN tell you that art parties and such aren't going to go away permanently. I can still have these events, I'll just be the one organizing and stuff....as an artist....not a business. However, I am going to keep calling the events The Palette Social. I am keeping all social media, but the website dies tonight at midnight. I find this coincidence appropriate and fitting, expiring as we enter a new year. I will be updating my own website to reflect all of this. In the meantime, follow me on my art page: Tish Douzart - TD Studio. Updates, party options and such should be up within the next couple of weeks. I'll keep you informed here, on my art page, and on Instagram.

Many creatives have had to make changes to their income streams and lifestyles this year. I am no different. I enjoy putting together these events for you and hope to continue doing them in some capacity. You can contact me on Facebook, Instagram, and via email at [email protected].

UPDATE: Hello art lovers! We hope that you have been well. The last two and half months have just been weird, to say the least. We had planned to launch some online courses, but an unexpected bout of depression and anxiety grabbed a hold and left us confused, panicky, and unsure how to proceed with life. I'm sure many of you can relate. We decided to focus on our own well-being, family/friends, and jobs (The Palette Social is unfortunately not our full time job.....yet). Our desire to help you create an artsy experience is still very much there. Please bare with us, as we all move through the motions of reopening New Orleans and figuring out just how to make it all happen without any issues. Let us know if you have any inquiries, questions, comments, concerns...anything. We are more than happy to chat with you.

Hello Arts n Crafts Lovers!

We want to take a moment to comment on the current situation around COVID-19 and what our plans are moving forward for now.

Many small businesses are opting to close, at least to the public. We hadn't fully planned our first workshop and things started to get crazy. Considering the circumstances, we are putting in-person classes on hold until things smooth out. We are also planning a slight shift in our menu. We are currently making adjustments and will be launching some classes online soon. This way, you can still enjoy creating things from your home with loved ones. In light of school closures and parents looking for projects for their children, some of these online classes will be for kids. Stay tuned for an announcement on this.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves, check in on your elderly neighbors, and remember to BREATHE. We will all get through this!

Just came out of the Mardi Gras vortex and although creative overload happens, we are ready to put our focus on yet another creative venture, which begins with YOU at our Open House THIS Sunday at 2pm at beatrixbell handcrafted jewelry!!!
