Featured Delicacy of the Week: Spinach & Artichoke Dip with homemade tortilla chips

Some believe this melty dip came to the US after WWII when soldiers returned from Europe. It increased in popularity in the 1950’s when eating in comfort on your couch, watching the television became more prevalent.

There are many variations of this warm, gooey wonder. At Aroma Catering, we combine fresh spinach, tangy artichokes with cheese, garlic and house spices to create the ultimate party food. Yet, it’s also a comfort food – like a warm, satisfying hug.

A Tale of Two Cities – The Big Easy vs. The City of Brotherly Love

The original New Orleans Po-Boy and the Philly Cheese Steak have similar origins: Both created by a team of brothers to feed the working class during The Great Depression. Both started with meat scraps (adding cheese later) on a soft bun. That’s where the similarities end and the battle for the best steak sandwich begins!

Po-boys have evolved over the decades to include endless pairings of beef, seafood, poultry and veg – with or without lettuce, tomato and pickles - always served on a soft Italian bun. Our mini po-boys pack a lot of flavor into a portable tail-gate staple!

This Sunday, the Saints will “dress” down the Eagles on ‘da field and celebrate the ‘W’ with a po-boy! A winner for a winner!
