Hi friends! What a blessing it is to take pictures! Capturing memories that last a lifetime!
Some people do photography as a business to make lots of money, and I respect that. However, I take photos for the pure joy and happiness it brings to people (and myself as well). When I see the reaction on someones face after showing them an awesome shot I got of them diving for a catch, or the look in a mother’s eyes when I show her the pictures of her newborn baby....THAT is why I take pictures. To capture those moments that you can carry with you for many generations.
I remember when I was little, sitting with my grandmother looking at old black and white photos. The stories she would tell me about the people in the picture. Some of the pictures were 40 years old, but she remembered like it was yesterday. Pictures capture memories that can never be forgotten.
When doing a photo shoot, I try to capture the raw feelings in the moment. Very rarely do I have people do poses, or scripted pictures. What’s the fun in that? I’d rather capture the raw emotions then fake a scripted smile.
With that being said, I do take great pride in all of my work. I never went to school or have had official training with my camera. God has blessed me with an eye for certain things, and I use my blessings to the best of my ability.
I never want money to be a reason why someone can’t get pictures done. Reaping and sowing is what it is all about. Sliding scales and budgets always are considered!
My mission is to bring light into this dark world. Bring some sunshine into someones cloudy day. Bring smiles back to the frowning people. Bring joy back to the hopeless and I truly believe photography is a great tool for that!
