Painting a mural sounds like a fun little project, until you’re three hours in with paint in places paint should never be, wondering why you didn’t just hire it out.

But then you step back and see it all come together, and it’s worth every drop.

Told myself I’d be careful this time.

Ten minutes in, that plan was gone. Paint on my hands, paint on my legs, paint pretty much everywhere except exactly where I meant it to go.

But the wall’s coming together. 95% there now.

Messy hands, worth it 🎨

There’s a shift happening out here.

The air finally has that little cool edge to it in the mornings. And this week, out cutting flowers before the day got going, I just… stopped for a second.

A butterfly working the zinnias. A doe and her two babies moving along the tree line, not in any hurry. Birds going about their business like I wasn’t even there.

Just quiet. And flowers. And me with my clippers, taking it all in.

I love mornings like that. I love sharing this place with you, too.

The Shed sits right at the edge of the woods, so who knows, you might catch that same doe and her babies while you’re building your bouquet.

The Flower Shed is open today through Sunday, 10am to 7pm, with everything set up for you to snip and build your own.

It is hot, girl. The kind of hot where you rethink every outdoor plan you made.

Good news: the shed sits in the shade. Buckets got filled this morning while it was still cool, and everything in there is standing in fresh water waiting on you.

Ten minutes out of the sun and you leave with something pretty for your kitchen table.
