Owner and operator Ryan Wooley has been packing dance floors at special events for nearly 20 years as a professional DJ. He got his first start in the DJ booth at roller skating rink in Westland Michigan before branching out and taking his show on the road for weddings, graduation parties, corporate events, and more. He also is no stranger to the microphone as he was a local radio sportscaster in

the Metro-Detroit area for both 97.1 “The Ticket” and WWJ Newsradio 950 for 13 years, and still handles play by play for Eastern Michigan University's men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball on ESPN+. He is also the color analyst for high school football and basketball on 93.5 WHMI. Sad to hear the news about Pat Caputo today. I had the honor of producing his show alongside Dennis Fithian when 1270am flipped to 97.1 to originally become “Detroit Sports Powerhouse”, and eventually “The Ticket”.

While Pat and I had our disagreements on sports, life, and even clothing, he was always supportive of me, my career and my family. I’ll never forget him making an effort to drive from Lake Orion (where he would say living is a vacation)to Belleville for my housewarming in 2010. Him announcing on air the birth of my daughter Lillian in 2012. Introducing me to what “two loose” was at the coney. And texting me when I was laid off in 2020 when the sports world shut down.

I’m sharing this photo of Pat and I from 2010 because this was early in my career and as he told me back in February when I texted him, this was the day before he got sick and had his gallbladder out, but they thought then it might have been what he had now which was pancreatic cancer.

Pat left a mark on Detroit Sports and all those who worked with him or listened and has forgotten more than most of us will ever know. Rest easy Pat. You truly were the Book on Sports.
