This photo holds such a powerful sentiment to me.

Barn owls are one of my favorite animals. I think they are just so beautiful and ethereal.

So when I reached out to Michael Beran about the possibilities of meeting a barn owl in person the night before I was supposed to leave , it was only my intention to set up another day, another time.

He said: "Are you gonna be in town tomorrow? I can arrange to bring an owl to you. You can just hold her and snuggle with her." Later he'd say he would let me do a shoot if we could find a photographer.

So cue my last minute, panicked, but incredibly excited ask if anyone was available and willing. A friend of mine saw my ask and asked Brittany Munn a friend of his whom he'd known in past time. And she agreed!

It was all happening. It was a blessing. I had a horrible mental break the day before.

When Michael showed me Cricket, I cried.

This was a spiritual encounter, both with Cricket the owl and with Brittany.

The shoot was magical. We went to Stl's faire grounds and I got to live out a dream that will always mean so so so much to me.

I wish I could have seen more of this shoot, but the experience itself was so incredible.
