Meet Tylon, a passionate 16-year-old who’s kicking off his first day of work through the ARISE Summer Internship Program! This incredible initiative, a collaboration between the Black Business Alliance and Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs connects eager high school students with Black-owned businesses in
Tylon loves nature and working with plants, inspired by his mom and grandma’s love for both. He’s motivated to support his family and show his mom that he’s committed to building a brighter future together. “I don’t want my mom to feel like she’s the only one working to take care of us. I’m trying to get to where she is,” he says.
With dreams of finishing high school and studying biochemistry in college (plus plumbing on the side), Tylon is ready to gain real-world experience, contribute fresh energy, and grow alongside his community. 🌱
The ARISE Program is fully funded by the allowing businesses like BLOOM to invest in the next generation, while students like Tylon gain invaluable insights into business and entrepreneurship.
TOGETHER, we’re not just building a sustainable future for our local business ecosystem; we’re redefining what’s possible. This resonates deeply with me as I reflect on my own journey—at 13, I began my own path of working to support my family. This is more than just a job; it’s a legacy of resilience and empowerment!
Let’s GrOw!!! 🙌
