Wedding #2 of 2 today brought me to the beautiful beach in Rehoboth for Stephanie and Michael’s “I Do’s.” 🌊💍

With the waves crashing along the shore and a gentle breeze drifting in from the ocean, it was the perfect setting for a heartfelt ceremony. Stephanie was absolutely stunning in her fitted wedding gown, while Michael and his son looked incredibly dapper in their matching jackets and hats.

There is something so special about a beach wedding—the sound of the ocean, the salty air, and the reminder that love, like the tide, is both powerful and constant.

Congratulations, Stephanie and Michael! Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a beautiful day. Wishing you and your family a lifetime of love, happiness, and wonderful adventures together. ❤️

Ps the staff at the hotel were amazing and so friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

Wedding #1 of 2 today was a beautiful celebration for Sarah and Andrew. ❤️

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they chose the simplicity and intimacy of a wedding at home in Marydel MD- a reminder that the most meaningful moments don’t require grand ballrooms, just the people who matter most.

The sun was shining brightly, the day was certainly hot, and Sarah looked absolutely beautiful as she married the love of her life.

Congratulations, Sarah and Andrew! Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special day. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and countless happy memories together. 💍✨

Congratulations to Julia and Ryan on their beautiful wedding day!

Although the temperatures were high, the stunning waterfront setting provided the perfect backdrop as these two said “I Do.” The view of the water, the sunshine, and the love surrounding them made for a truly memorable day.

One of the sweetest moments was seeing Ryan’s emotions as Julia made her way to him. His love for her was written all over his face, reminding everyone present what this day was truly about.

The wedding party looked incredible, with the handsome groomsmen dressed in classic black and the bridesmaids adding a soft, elegant touch in beautiful pale yellow dresses that perfectly complemented the summer scenery.

Thank you, Julia and Ryan, for allowing me to be part of such a special chapter in your love story. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and countless beautiful moments together.

💍 A Little Wedding History: Why Does a Father “Give Away” His Daughter?

One of the most traditional moments in a wedding ceremony is when a father escorts his daughter down the aisle. But have you ever wondered where that tradition began?

Historically, in many cultures, marriages were often arranged, and a daughter was considered under the care and protection of her father until marriage. The act of “giving away” the bride symbolized the transfer of responsibility from her father to her husband.

Thankfully, times have changed.

Today, most couples view this moment very differently. Rather than a father “giving away” his daughter, it’s often seen as a beautiful gesture of love, support, and blessing. It’s a father saying, “I have loved, guided, and supported you, and now I proudly stand beside you as you begin this new chapter.”

As a wedding officiant, I’ve seen this tradition take many forms. Sometimes it’s a father, sometimes both parents, a mother, a grandparent, a sibling, a child, or even the bride walking herself down the aisle. There is no right or wrong way—only what feels meaningful to the couple.

One of my favorite alternatives is when I ask, “Who supports this couple in their marriage today?” and the family responds, “We do.”

Because at the heart of every wedding tradition is something far more important than the tradition itself: love, support, and the joining of two lives.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of officiating the beautiful wedding of Blair and Alex at Wildflower Estates. 🌿💍

Nestled in a gorgeous garden surrounded by lush greenery and colorful blooms, they exchanged their vows on a sunny summer day that was every bit as warm as the love they share. ☀️🌸

One of my favorite moments was listening as they shared their heartfelt personal vows with one another before exchanging traditional vows, blending their unique love story with the timeless promises of marriage.

Blair and Alex, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special chapter in your journey. It was an honor to stand with you as you said “I Do” and began this next adventure together.
