Can we talk about timelines for a minute? There are some stressors around timelines and I hope this post makes you feel better about planning your timeline with your planner/coordinator!
1)Timelines are made to help make the most out of your wedding day. This way, time is not wasted and can have a progressive flow throughout the day!
2) Timelines are made to make your wedding day less stressful AND to serve your wants and needs. If your timeline is inhibiting what you are wanting from your day, then we need to scrap the timeline and come up with a new plan. This wedding for example had to be pushed back 30-45 minutes due to rain. Mr. and Mrs. Ward DESIRED an outdoor wedding and the rain was projected to stop soon. So we waited. As agonizing it was knowing that our plans were changing, everyone was THRILLED with their outdoor wedding. It was well worth the wait and definitely worth rearranging the timeline for the rest of the day! Make the timeline serve you - not just the vendors! It’s your day!
3) Timelines are guidelines. Plain and simple. It’s okay if things get scrapped or switched around. It’s okay if events run a little late or early!
4) You don’t want to be the one managing the timeline. You also don’t want your wedding party/family managing the timeline. You want to enjoy your day and those that you love and cherish to celebrate your love ❤️ this is where you need a day-of coordinator. We take the your baton (all of your hard work finding vendors, planning table decor, planning all of the sentimental portions of your day, etc.) and bring it to the finish line. This way YOU get to be a bride - not a project manager!
