A Quick Clarification from Great Lakes Event Network:
To our Great Lakes Event Network Community & Vendors:
We need to address some recent changes to our schedule, as well as some misinformation circulating online.
Due to sudden, unforeseen weather conditions this weekend, and venue structural failures completely out of our control, we are being forced to restructure and postpone several of our upcoming fall dates.
On a personal level, our family has also been navigating profound heartbreak over the recent passing of my two family members of Jason's. Trying to hold all of this together while managing venue doors closing has pushed things to a breaking point. Because we refuse to put on a half baked event that doesn't serve our vendors, we are making the hard call to pause our late September slate, clear the board, and regroup.
To clear up the rumors currently circulating:
We are entirely independent: Great Lakes Event Network has no affiliation, partnership, or connection with other promoters nor event operators. Our events are entirely separate productions. It has come to our attention thanks to recent vendor outreach from our network, that certain promoters and competitors have been spreading misinformation.
While we have issued formal notice to those spreading false, defamatory claims about our business, it is truly sad that certain types would take advantage of grief and use it as a weapon or to gain favor. That some can be so challenged by competition they feel the need to engage in dishonest behavior.
We want to ensure that all those affected are being contacted directly regarding their accounts within the next 24 hours. We are taking a necessary step back this fall to restructure properly. Our focus is now entirely locked on executing a fantastic Sci-Gore event next month, and ensuring our major 2027 slate comes back stronger, cleaner, and better than ever.
