Did you know that our Accents Floral & Gifts Boutique is open 7 days a week? If you need flowers on the weekend when I'm not available or after 5:00 you can always find flowers in my cooler, fresh and ready to go. The girls at the front desk would be happy to assist you if you need it. They have boxes behind the desk to make transporting flowers much easier. Unique Boutiques Joplin is open Monday thru Saturday 10:00 to 7:00 and Sunday 11:00 to 5:00. I have also stocked some sympathy gifts. And we also have plants ready for pick up. Each day flowers come in and have to be prepped before any arrangements are done. This takes time. Every flower is inspected broken and bruised or bad flowers are thrown out. Each stem is given a fresh cut and put into a freshly washed and sanitized bucket with fresh water and flower food. Then we allow the flowers to drink while prepping vases and baskets for the days orders. At this time of day we are taking lots of orders for the day and the next few days. Orders for my shop are taken till 11:00 for same day deliver except when too many have already come in. In that situation we ask that the next days delivery be an option or we may not be able to help you that day. I don't like turning away orders but to give everyone who has planned ahead good service is necessary sometimes to do this.

Just a few things to remember when sending flowers.

1. We have several orders that go out everyday. Other people have planned ahead and placed their order already. Last minute orders are not given priority over these orders.

2. We are on a lot of time schedules. We are trying to get orders to several different funeral homes in time for visitations and service. We are trying to catch people before they leave work.

3. We are in a rural area and we serve many small towns in our area, it takes time to drive from one place to another.

4. There is more to getting your order ready than just throwing some flowers in a vessel. Flowers have to be ordered, prepped when they arrive. By prepped I mean, buckets washed, filled and flowers processed. Flowers arrived dehydrated at times and need proper time to drink. They come in boxes that have to be unpacked. Flowers have to be unwrapped and each stem is cut and placed in water. Vases must be prepared for your beautiful fresh arrangement or if a basket is chosen floral foam must be soaked before adding to the basket in preparation for the flowers.

5. Flowers are arrangements by a designer. It is an art. (Not throwing flowers in there.).Preparation takes time, planning. Florist are not sitting behind the desk scrolling on their phone waiting for the next phone call or the next order to roll off the printer.

Things you can do to help your florist when planning to place an order.

1. Call! DONT text! Texting takes twice as much time.

2. Be prepared!
1. Have the persons name and address and phone number ready
2. Have your credit card ready
3. Have your card message written down or at least in your head OR
4. Place your order online
