Brian Hargrave is playing King Balthazar

Brian graduated in 2006 from Pittsburg State University with two bachelor degrees: the first in Vocal Music Performance and K-12 Music Education.

Musically, singing and composing music are his passions, but he has also been playing the drum set for over 30 years, guitar for over 25 years, and has enjoyed tuning pianos for over 20 years. Brian began teaching in Lamar, Missouri in the fall of 2006, and built a solid program there, as well as continuing excellence in Carthage, Missouri.

In performance, Brian began his career at the age of 9, by being a part of the townspeople in The Music Man for a professional production in Kansas City, starring William Katt. Other leading roles for musicals include Bye, Bye, Birdie; Oklahoma!; Guys and Dolls; Grease; and Carousel. Brian has also had training in film composition at NYU with Mark Snow, and has performed with composer John Leavitt on the main stage of Carnegie Hall in New York City. Brian enjoys singing Barbershop style harmony – and really, anything that has close harmonies! Brian is also an avid arranger and composer, and spends his summers arranging music for area show choirs.

In life, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Regan, their 4 kids and 2 dogs. He enjoys puns, telling bad jokes and making people laugh!
