Sometimes as a caterer, in an effort to not run out of food for your special event, there is a little extra left at the end of an event. A few pounds of green beans, a tray of mashed potatoes, a half case of tomatoes…. As long as it meets certain safety and sanitation standards, it is still usable and donatable.
River Willow is happy to donate that product to a variety of places, one being 740 Kitchen! Not only are they keeping food waste down, but they are turning that food product into delicious meals for families throughout SE Ohio.

For those who are new here —
The 740 Rescue Kitchen rescues surplus food and transforms it into thousands of nutritious meals every week, serving 9 counties across Southeast Ohio.
We partner with local schools, nonprofits, the Joe Burrow Foundation, Hocking College, farmers, stores, and community members to make sure good food never goes to waste — and that families across the region have one less worry on their plate.

But to keep doing this work — and to reach even more people who need us — we need visibility.

TRI COUNTY BURGER COOK OFF IS ABOUT TO KICK OFF!!!!! We are here live with the living legend CHEF KATIE!!!! We are featuring the BBQ Garlic Mushroom Burger and the Bacon Jam Burger!!! These burgers can’t be modified because they are that good BUT for $12 you can taste excellence with a side of our hand cut fries and support the Tri-County Culinary program!!

Another beautiful Local Love Affair dinner for 2. This private chef experience features a local cheese display, apple crunch salad & Roasted Tomato & Pepper Soup, Braised Short Rib, and a Brambleberry Cobbler.

We work with so many local vendors to create a menu that EVERYONE will enjoy at . This year’s menu was chef’s spin on some classic steakhouse fare, focusing on many local vendors, especially women & minority owned businesses from right here in Athens. We are blessed with a “bounty” of local talent, and this menu was meant to showcase that love and passion we all have for feeding our families and our neighbors.

Some of the amazing folks who helped make 2025 successful! We could not pull this type of event off without volunteers and team members who put in a ton of dedication to feed over 300 people! Thank you so much to everyone who had a hand in this year’s event. And a special shout out to the OU dietetics program, who not only supplied some phenomenal volunteers, but also a space to prepare the dinner!
