Hello friends! Today the WP horses want to give a BIG Happy Birthday shout out to my husband Josh!! 🐴🎉
His duties at the farm are pretty much endless. From fixing fence, unthawing auto waterers on those brutal January mornings, building boxstalls, fieldwork, filling in guiding when needed, hauling horses around, and everything else in between. I am convinced his favorite call from me has got to be the “So there was a situation and a rail broke in the corral today” 🤠 he loves that one! We really couldn’t do this whole thing without him.

Hello Wilderness Pursuit friends!
As many of you know, grandma Lynette has raised Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs) for many years. She has truly loved raising wonderful family dogs but the time has come for her to enjoy a little bit more of a retirement. We are cutting down drastically on the breeding program. She wants to spend more time traveling out West and checking off bucket list items - which she so deserves.
All of these have been vet checked and received their first round of vaccinations. Any questions we will gladly answer here on FB messenger. There will be no holds - this is a first come first serve. If you are looking for a breeding male or female - we have those available as well. We are willing to negotiate prices for the right family.

Friendly reminder if you are looking for a fun memorable adventure with your loved ones - call our office! The holiday weekends fill up fast. We are open 7 days a week by appointment only
We rescued this sweetie from a kill pen in MN last June. She was posted as a 4 to 6 month old without her mom - my heart told me I needed her! We picked her up terrified, full of all sorts of wounds, and malnourished. We started her on milk pellets and meds immediately. It’s amazing what a little love can do! Today, a year later she is the happiest and healthiest filly you will find! We love her endlessly.

Ramsey 🤍
We had to say our goodbyes to him 2 days ago and boy it wasn’t easy. Horse heaven truly gained one of the best!
Ramsey spent majority of his life with us but he does have a bit of a funny back story. In the early 2000’s grandma Lynette was contacted by a family from Strum, WI about a horse they were trying to find a home for who belonged to one of their family members who had recently passed away. The man that had passed away rode Ramsey to get to a local bar every single day. The man had lost his license - and he needed to get to the bar. Ramsey would sit outside the bar fully tacked up, wait for closing time, and get this man home. This story screams only in Wisconsin! It truly shows what kind of horse Ramsey was. Loving, willing to do anything you ask of him, and overall just a once in a lifetime horse.
Ramsey’s days at WP consisted of taking countless clients on beautiful trail rides, sometimes walking too fast for the group. He loved getting turned out and promptly rolling in the sand pit. He loved pounding on the gate if you were a minute past breakfast time. He loved everything about his job. He is truly unreplaceable. We already miss him so much.
A little side note from me (Brianna) for those of you that know my grandma - you know she loves her horses fearlessly. Ramsey was most definitely one of my favorites. She would always tell me growing up “I think we should consider selling some of these older horses I dont think we want to see them pass.” I would promptly tell her NO to majority of them. There are a handful that we have found truly loving homes for but majority of our retired trail horses have lived out their days on our farm. We provide them with the best senior care we can and love them until their very last breath. This is an extremely heartbreaking process as they are a part of our family. My grandma has raised most of them from little babies. Send her a hug if you know her. Thank you granny for giving Ramsey the best life ever! His final days consisted of all of us caring for him around the clock. Granny, Mom, Bianca, Josh, Gabe, Brin, Dad and Dr. Mike Strobush - thank you all. It really takes a village! Our sweet Ramsey was so loved ❤️
